Been using ProScan for some time and like it.
But ok there's always a But.
Is there a way to import a CSV file into the ProScan database? I am only interested in conventional, not trunking.
I currently do it but it takes another program and a long time, almost not worth it, here is how I do it now:
Download the from scanner into Freescan. Import CSV file into Freescan, upload Freescan database into scanner, connect ProScan to scanner, download scanner into ProScan. Long way to do it, but it works. There must be a ProScan feature I am missing. Hard to believe ProScan doesn't have it because ProScan does everything else very well.
Does your internet service provider change your ip from time to time?? I had my 780 setup on proscan at home so i can listen to it at work. I hadn't used the feed in awhile, so the other day i go to listen to it and it will not connect. I check my computer when i got home and noticed the server ip on my proscan feed is now different than what it was when i set it up a few months ago?? Do i have to go back into my router and set everything up again to get it back on?? I noticed some of the feeds that i listen to online that the ip has changed too. Thanks

Power cycling your router can cause the IP address to change. It's recommended to use a free no IP address service for this reason. With a no IP service, the client uses a more friendly URL name verses an IP address to connect to the server.
You don't need to go into the router config unless the router port forwarding is setup to use the local address verses computer name AND the local address changed. I would just simply put the new IP address in the client and try to connect.
I finally had a chance last night to check my settings. I went back through the port forwarding settings and they all seemed to be the same as i had set them up before. I tried this morning to get on from work and it wont connect to the server. I got this message -
Server not responding Code 1
Anything else i should be checking to get this back up?? Thanks
Dear Bob!
What's the reason why ProScan does not log tone (CTCSS) in filename? BCT15, Custom Search mode, and filename pattern contains 'T%'. Contains, but this variable is always empty. Even when I see tone over scanner's display. And I sea all tones well logged at Logging tab.
Any way to fix it?
Thanks!
The tone data from the scanner to ProScan arrives latter then the other data due to the extra time it takes the tone to be detected by the scanner. The file is created when the recording starts and the tone data hasn't arrived yet. I can work on it and see what can be done but it will be down the road.
Try this..Before attempting to connect a client. Start the server and on the same machine as the server, use your internet browser and go to canyouseeme.org
If canyouseeme can not see the server then that has to be troubleshot. If can see the server then put in the IP address of the server in the client and see if it works. Don't use the 10.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x. addresses. Use the outside address.

Went back and double checked everything and for some reason the ip address of my computer changed from what it was setup as before?? Redid my settings and i have my feed back up. Now i know what to check if i run into problems again. Thanks for the info.
On another note i am still trying to get both of my radios to record onto the sound card of my laptop. I had gone through older posts that you had written about this but i can't seem to get both to record. I have a 780xlt and a bc15x. Got a rca cable with a 1/8 stereo plug to go into the mic input on my laptop and 1 each of the other ends goes into the scanner. I can only get the audio to record from the 780.
Anyone have a idea on how to setup to record from both radios??
