Installed 8.7 on my 3 instances. Still have the same problem of 1 of the instances freezing and it's always the same instance. Running on a 996P2, 996XT, and 15X; it's always the 996XT that freezes.

Is the instance connected to the 996XT have other instances on same computer?
Is it a computer issue?
Have you tried changing the scanner type to 15X and connecting 15X and see if it still freezes.
Install in another folder and see what happens.

You need to do trial and error test to isolate the problem.

Also, on computer restart, the 996P2 does not connect via Com port; sound still plays but none of the display and other communication features work. Have to close that instance of ProScan and cycle the power on the P2 before it'll work again.
Have you tried the rear port? Off hand I think the front port behaves that way.

It's 3 instances on the same computer, however all the scanners are controlled by different copies of ProScan in separate folders.

I'll flip the 996XT and 15X and give that a go.

I have a similar issue when using a null RS232, though that may be a driver thing. Using Win7 SP1 and a GUC232A w/ null modem cable, it'll connect. However, when I restart, the GUC232A COM port does not load w/ Windows and I have to manually d/c and reconnect the adapter to get the COM port to show back up.

Logging on "P25 One Frequency" Systems

I have several local "P25 One Frequency" systems programmed into my BCD536HP. It is necessary to program them this way instead of as P25 Conventional in order to display talkgroup and unit id's. When logging to the ProScan window, all systems are logged to the same line, presumably because all systems use the same talkgroup id of 1. Is there a trick of programming or configuration to cause different log entries for each of the different systems instead of them all updating the same log entry?

For instance, ProScan will first log the Police Department with appropriate talkgroup id, frequency, UID, and System-Department-Channel data. Then I get a hit from the Sheriff's Office (which is on a different frequency, in a different system, in a different department, etc.). The UID updates, but no new log entry is created, frequency is not updated, System-Department-Channel is not updated.

Can I work around this?

Change the individual site names to something unique (not Site 1), that should do the trick

I changed the site names as necessary so that no two had the same name. Same result. Starting with a blank log window I get a log entry for the Sheriff's Office with all correct data. Then a hit from EMS changes the UID for the same entry.

Hi Bob,

I have 6 sessions running now and so far it works great. No bugs or any other trouble. Happy :)

Great work Bob, many thanks.
Have had it running for a couple of days now and yes, it has replaced 6.3 for me. Great version Bob :)

No Audio on PC

Using ProScan 8.7 with a BDC536HP and wifi. I can connect to the scanner, control it, record/playback audio, but I can't get any audio out of the pc speakers. Using the test tab I can generate a tone that I can hear, but no scanner audio.

Can anybody help? I'm sure I'm missing something simple.....

Since the audio is piped through the WiFi and not the sound card you have to use the Loopback control. Change the "Capture Audio Service" to Recorder (or any other if using) and click the Loopback control.

Anyone else having a problem with version 8.7 not using the Lockout Text file? I noticed that my feed is now broadcasting stuff that is listed in the Lockout file. And I emailed support about the issue already.

Where does the proscan logging grid data reside?

We had an outage here due to a storm. When I restarted my feed computer everything was reset as if it was a new proscan installation. The grid, recordings tab, everything... is reset. I had to reset the comport, reset the audio input source, all of it. Where does all that data reside? I tried searching the hard drive for key terms that correlate to frequencies and channel names but it never hits on anything.

I'm using Windows 10.

ProScan 8.6 and up

OK so 8.7 stopped using the Broadcast lockout file. Bob sent me 8.8 which also didn't work. Noted that 8.8 acted like I had no CFG file and everything had to be put back in just like a brand new setup. Decided to uninstall PS and delete the PS folder. Reinstalled Ver 8.6 and viola the s/w started with all the data for my feed and Broadcast lockout worked fine. I didn't have to Broadcastify my feed info or put all the stuff in for the SOIP like I did with 8.7 and 8.8 My only guess is that somehow the paths for the cfg files changed.

Is anyone else having this issue? Bob is working on it for me.
