I'm sorry to post what is probably a simple question but I am just not able to wrap my head around programming my SDS200. What is the difference between Quick Keys and Number Tags? It feels like I'm missing a critical piece in trying to understand how this memory architecture is set up. I've tried reading the Sentinal manual as well as the Easier to Understand manual and the only conclusion I have is that I'm not that bright!

Thanks for any help!

Number tags can also be used to go directly to a conventional frequency or a trunked talk group if you stop the scanning.

Quick keys are only active during scanning and the number tag keys when you have stopped scanning.

See this article in the Wiki. The title references the BCDx36HP series scanners (BCD436HP & BCD536HP), but this same information applies to the SDS series scanners.

As the above notes, Quick Keys are switches - used to turn things on or off.

Number Tags are addresses. Used to go places.
