okay.. so I'm a total newbie, I recently bought a SDS200 and I have a pretty good understanding on how to program it but I cannot, for some reason get West Sacramento PD. All I get in Sacramento City Police and a few others. It's driving me nuts. I would be very appreciative of any help with this.. Thank You in advance!

Are you using the Uniden Sentinel program?

yes I am.. I found West Sacramento and added it to the scanner but I can’t hear anything. maybe a transmission every few minutes or so maybe longer. I think I just don’t have it programmed right.

When programming SRRCS, you only need to program the Countywide Site (using Sentinel)

89612

You only need the Countywide Site. You can delete or Lock Out the sites; Twitchell, Downtown Folsom and Davis

89615

Ensure that any Attenuation is OFF
Ensure that Global Attenuation is OFF

89616

89617

Finally, just make sure any West Sac Talk Groups are not set to Avoid

If this doesn't work, you can message me your exported Favorites file, and I will look at it.

So West Sac isn't as super active as SacPD or Sac Sheriff. Have you tried holding on the West Sac Talk Group and listening?

You only need to program the primary (red) and alternate (blue) control channel frequencies.

Twitchell Island is intended as a fill-in repeater site for the agencies in the Delta region. You generally would not need to program this site unless you plan to go to the Delta region, although the Countywide Simulcast comes in pretty well down there as well (nearest tower site is Walnut Grove).

West Sac PD does some joint-op stuff with Davis PD (SWAT, EOD, YONET, etc.), so I'd recommend the Countywide Simulcast and Davis Simulcast.

Major radio issues today with SRRCS P25, at least in the last hour for me but quite possibly even longer. Sounds like some are falling back to conventional.

I heard Citrus Heights tell their field units that half of their dispatchers were working on portable radios. Elk Grove as well.

Watching Unitrunker, some agency dispatchers are on their consoles, some are on portables. I'm curious if there's a fiber-line cut somewhere. I'm curious if maybe the agencies still using their consoles could possibly be on microwave so they're not affected?

I heard several entities announce there was a major issue with the radio system. They indicated "Motorola was working on it" and had no estimated time of completion. Both listening and watching UniTrunker, the traffic on the system seems light this morning (but it could just be because it is early).
