Guys,
1403 EDT- Axeman flt (2 X A-10Cs, 104th FS MD ANG MTN)-w/Raven Ops (347.2) w/departure msg. Then working w/BW (256.5) in PAX areas.During CAS trainin g one Axeman makes ref to Global Hawk having eyes on target. Global Hawk is prob notional. Also ref that Hard Rock 01 is JTAC callsign (not sure if real or notional). Wardog (OA-10C) acting at FAC and one of the MD ANG A-10Cs is using callsign Tron 11 and anoter is Snake 11 & appear to be a specially-equipped acft.

This is first time I've heard MD ANG A-10Cs using Tron and Snake 11 callsigns

Anyone in the PAX area hearing this acty and confirm that Hard Rock is real or notional?

Bollen Range

Guys,

Today had several flts of MD ANG A-10Cs working at the Bollen Range. While at the Bollen Range Colt flt was working with callsign Brutal. Not sure if Brutal replaces Balky the old range callsign or is a special activity controller. Heard it several times---Brutal is definitely the callsign.

I understand from Larry Van Horn at Monitoring Times that 297.0 is longer valid for the 167th AS CP at Martinsburg WVA. He suggests check the following as its replacement Eastern West Virginia Regional (Martinsburg)
229.000 is listed as a 167AS SOF. Also check 297.900 302.300 335.850 MHz for the replacement of 297.000 MHz

Anyone out that way have anything on this?

I'll be listening. I hope it's changed. The only thing I would get on 297.0 is static so it was always locked out.

1855 local- NAVY 3E062 (He pronounced the "E" as ECHO) passing through NY airspace on 281.45, then asked for NY freq. Was given 353.50, mentioned Calverton.

297.0 MHz was active last night with several Decoy flights and Anvil flights using it. *Keep in mind, that with the base's recent expansion and changing mission, additional command and control units are in operation. *They may very well be using additional freqs and this weekend should be a good weekend to listen as it is drill weekend. *

Several sections are also preparing for an upcoming inspection as well as the heightened security and alert levels due to the event of this past Sunday. *The unit is currently flying numerous sorties to Afghanistan weekly as well as missions to Japan and other locations. *I had one of their C5's (68-0225) transversing the area at 19k' at 0100 hrs. this AM. *He departed the base yesterday afternoon about 1500hrs. *

There may be more freq shuffling in the very near future by alert of units. *I even look for them to start encrypting a lot of them.

E = TAW-5
062 = side number

E-062 would be the modex...making it T-6B 166062. I logged NAVY 3E 070 (166070) calling Patterson Metro on the same day for weather at KTYS - seems like there may have been a few of them up north.
