The DB has been updated to reflect this change. Assume like Bridgeport, the Site ID is still the same?

Not new to scanning but new to the sds100 and programing clmrn. I never realized how much I was missing until I got the sds100. Now it's almost too much that I can't listen to conventional traffic. I have all csp dispatch programmed and some of the othe fire depts programmed as well. I know the depts. that come through the radio but the dept. says unknown and this is for quite a few id's. Is there a way to program the name of the dept in sentenel as it comes through on csp simulcast and I can't seem to find the ID in order to program a name. Thanks

Do you have ID Seach enabled on CLMRN? If so you'll get unknown for any TG that wasn't imported... and for TGs that might be patched in temporarily..

I used to own an SDS100... and I broke down the TGs by region, which will be your departments, like it had been on the Smartzone system.

That way you can enable/disable regions...

So CSP East, CSP Center, CSP west, DEEP etc etc

Just my two cents.

So you want to program CLMRN to only hear certain groups? The easiest way to do so is to program it as a "favorites list". And just append as updates come along.

If you're just using the generic zip code type entry, then there's no way to actually change that.

If you've done the above and are scanning but it says "ID Searching", then you're in ID search mode and you'll see unprogrammed TGs show up. (Encrypted TGs will show up too with no audio). The fast way to toggle back to ID Scan mode is Press Function Then Enter.

They just changed the RFSS to 3 from 1. Won't affect scanners, but will affect Unication radios. Well, if you don't use a wildcard RFSS.

Why did Stamford change RFSS? Must be a PITA to reprogram the Unications they issue. Bricking every volley's pager overnight isn't a great selling point toward convincing towns onto the state system.

PS for mods: I only found the quoted comment thanks to a google search >> view cached page. I guess OP's orig thread (here) was moved into this one, but would be helpful had it been edited to include orig title. Was "CLMRN Stamford Site RFSS Change". Without context, the comment flies under the radar. Sad, because it was an awesome head's up. Much thanks to @msingewald for alerting us all!

The RFSS was changed to follow the CLMRN East/West zone change.
Previously discussed in this thread, it makes sense to continue it here rather than start a new thread. Also, changing the name of a 106 page thread about the system to fit a relatively minor change in one site does not seem like a good idea to me.
I am sure those who rely on that site would have the radios reprogrammed in the proper time frame. If not, the issue would likely been within the town's chain of command and not the radio system managers. It was mentioned that there is a setting in the Unication programming to make a RFSS wildcard so it wouldn't matter then.

Thanks, helpful. I generally follow this thread but must have missed prior discussion this change would happen. Mods do a thankless job, no ill will directed there. Just noting when moving threads, if old thread title has critical context it can be helpful to edit the body of a moved-comment too - so its context remains.
I know of wildcarding, but separate discussions in Unication forum cite pagers moving to non-programmed channels when the programmed site matches a - i believe unknown - threshold. ie in a public safety setting, I can see why Stamford doesn't program their Unications with a wildcard RFSS.

The primary point of my post was just understanding why RFSS changed. Sounds like that's a statewide decision. I assumed (incorrectly) because Stamford operates on their own site, they'd be somewhat insulated from state's decisions which could impact programming of issued equipment.

Does anyone know what happened to this CLMRN monitoring site, and if it's coming back? http://198.98.62.249/talkgroups
Google cache'd pages here: clmrn site:198.98.62.249/ - Google Search

I stumbled on it in google search. Let you monitor CLMRN and see talkgroups active. Had a real basic layout like the attached. No idea who's behind it, just seemed like a cool hobby project. Wondering if it's dead or an alternative exists?
