I got loggings for Troop G several times in the last 30 min. If it was encr. it would log it on my Proscan software but it wouldn't say 3 sec. or 5 sec. transmissions. It says 0 sec. but still logs it. I have not seen 1 Encr. xmsn. except for training in the last hour. Here is a training encr. log:
2021770.781250-8418043561F F F F F F F F F F F F F F F F - TROOP F SIMULCAST - STATE POLICE - TRAINING CAR/CAR 07/15/20 19:30:09FM00:00:0007/15/20 19:30:09P25 Trunk

It says 00:00:00 for the time but still logs it even though the scanner doesn't stop on it for very long.
I just heard Troop D also clear on K Simulcast. And there is G again . Maybe check your settings???

Yeah I don't know about you guys but to me it would make more sense if they programmed their radios to Tdma and encrypted at the same time instead of to Tdma, then to encryption. It's just my 2 cents on it. Unless the key manager is slow and did not touch every radio with it. I have no idea if this systems has otap lol

Yeah they could have even went encr. when they were Phase 1. Why would they wait if they were going to do it anyway

Monitoring Troop H dispatch from L Simulcast and H Simulcast almost all transmissions are still in the clear. On Troop L and A, on L and A Simulcast, I haven't heard any in the clear for almost an hour now. They may only be updating certain talk groups bit by bit after enabling TDMA. I see them flash on the scanners, and show up on DSDPlus, but the SDS moves on like its encrypted.
I just heard L about 10-15 transmissions on A simulcast. They have a crash working. Did you hear them WoodburyMan?

Seems like all the troops I can pick up from my house (A,B,G,H,I and L) are back to normal as far as traffic goes. Hearing dispatch and units just fine. Time will tell I guess but so far so good

I'm getting it now. It started back up after 8:30pm or so. I had a hour and a half gap between and got no transmissions on L Dispatch TG. i got that on A and L Simulcast as well.

I still think some consoles and radios are encrypted. This batch or ones handling the ancient happened to be clear. Either that or theyre flipping it on and off somehow. The way the SDS200 is behaving when it finds them is just like a encrypted transmission. It's either that or the SDS100 and SDS200 aren't taking TDMA well. I have a old HP II but it lacks trunk tracking and never worked real well on CLMRN to begin with before TDMA although it should support it.

Yeah it's confusing with this system. Back then on my sdr's I was able to receive multiple sites on the moto ii system strongly with no antenna adjustments. Now with this current system, I have to adjust both my control channel and voice recieve antennas to point towards the site to get a clear strong signal just from ONE site lol I can't receive any other site but the troop C simulcast. For troop H simulcast the control channel is just a little hump on my waterfall display it's really weak. I miss the signal strengths from the moto ii system

Switching a talkgroup from FDMA to TDMA is nothing more then a mouse click on the system admin’s computer for this system, there is no reprogramming of subscriber radios is needed at all. I haven’t heard of any plans to encrypt the dispatch channels for CSP. Scanners are known to be much less reliable at decoding TDMA traffic which could explain some of the silent transmission many are having.

Not a bit of encryption on CSP Troop Dispatch TGIDs at all based on watching all (except Troop G) via DSDPlus. The program marks the secure transmissions and looking back through today, nothing secure with the Dispatch groups. The change was strictly TDMA.
If you are having issues with the scanner reception on xxxP2 or SDSx00 radios, you need to look at the various settings, programming, etc. It should be transparent for those radios but there are random TDMA issues with them all.

Some more input regarding DSDPlus. I switched my batch file from a control channel role to control channel and voice. I am listening to Troop H simulcast and it's passing Troop A, C, H, I & L dispatch channel audio fine, and I'm still getting nothing but flashes on the SDS200 with Troop H in a site hold. There must be something besides encryption going on.

Location for my SDS scanners from home hasn't changed so it must be a setting. I hope.

I configured and got SDR Trunk going last night (much more advanced than dsdplus...) and actually heard a lot more transmissions than either of my sds were picking up. I'm wondering if the sds just sucks at tdma like they're saying. I may have to tweak some hold settings. It's like when it tracks and stitches to the broadcast frequency, the scanner just decides to decode a bit of it then goes 'nope' and skips it like a encrypted channel.. Where if it held it longer it may be able to lock on.

I wonder if it's signal strength. My SDS200 is doing better than my SDS100. SDS200 gets like -95db to - 100db. The 100 gets like - 105 to - 110 weaker signal...

My Sds100 and 200 have been silent all evening and this morning.

Is there an easy way to do the switch you mentioned @PhillyPhoto

If you look at the batch file (the default is CC.bat) in your DSDPlus folder you change it there. I had the "-rc" option and changed it to "-r1". If you have a couple dongles running, I would suggest also adding "-o1L" to one and "-o1R" to the other to output to the left and right audio speakers respectively for better listenability. The 1 represents which output device, so you may need to run DSDPlus by itself in a command prompt to see what your options are.

I had found that my best reception of Phase 2 talkgroups on my 996P2's and even my SDS200 was by setting up a custom system with only the control channel and no talkgroups programmed in. I did it this way as I was setting up a remote site and wanted a quick test. Huge downside is the lack of control over what you hear. It takes a long time to get all the ISSI & non public safety locked out.

I have almost perfect reception with my remote SDS200 now but it has been frustrating. I relocated into a garage to increase the reception (using behind the set antenna) and now see high 70's to high 80's dbm. I can see where mobile or indoor use quickly degrades the reception.

I have been using the older version of SDRTrunk for monitoring Passport traffic so I was used to that. Helping a friend with a computer issue yesterday with DSDPlus and we switched to trying the newer version of SDRTrunk for P25 trunking and it gave much better audio. New project to learn the new version. DSDPlus seems easier to work with for me so far but that may be because I have 5+ years of running it.

I don't have DSDPlus. I use Sentinal to program my SDS radios.
