So as long as you learn from someone, even if they use an adblocker, then they aren’t a “DA” in your book?

The owner of this site works hard for us to have the best place on the internet for information for our hobby and for one I would vote for all members to pay a fee to use this site sorry if this offends you.

Those that have their hand out wanting everything for nothing and do not offer any help to others. Those that want people to give or do for them and are not willing to help others.
I can go for that but not your original statement. I don’t see a tight coupling with that statement and an adblocker though.

It's that childish "Duh, I'll show you. You can't stop me from ad blocking and I'm going to brag about it" syndrome. No matter what the subject is , it's always that same crybaby attitude. The DA filter works great. LOL

I’m confused. What ad blocker user is crying? All I see are people saying they will continue to use the software they want.

If that happened, I'd stop participating. I feel I contribute more to helping other hobbyists than I get in return from this site. I know there are several others that see it the exact same way.
On the flip side, there are other radio related sites where I do pay, and I happily do that because the level of info I get is worth it, and I consume more than I return.

As for the ad blocker, sometimes I'm using low speed connections at remote locations, and wasting what little I have on loading ads isn't worth it. Even when I'm not, the ads are intrusive, and are not directed at me. I'm not in the market for scanners or hobby grade equipment. The advertisers are not going to make any money off me. From what I've seen, the owner of this site is doing just fine. He ain't living in a van down by the river.
And don't forget, my computer. I can decide what others are allowed to do on it. I don't have to let anyone dump advertising on it. That's the beauty of choice, and ad blockers.

Such is the way of the internet. The days of having to purchase magazines to get info are long gone. If this site went pay only, it would impact ad revenue. I'm betting he's got a pretty good balance of paying users, ad revenue, and people that provide free support/frequency info to keep the site relevant. If I ever see that balance start to tip, I might reconsider.
