Thanks for all your help & the file. If I buy a PC USB cable for the scanner (mine didn't come with one), I would be able to load this file onto it, right? I think the radio shack website said that a cd comes with the cable. That would have the program I need, wouldn't it?

I would think the CD has the drivers to install the cable adapter on your computer. You can install the firmware by opening the file and following the instructions after you get the cable installed.

Is it not unusual for the conversations to be halfway intelligible? The only way to describe it is if you listen to a webcam audio feed or something along those lines and you can hear it kind of break up, something along those lines. Pro-106 800MHz antenna KSP Post 14. The transmissions come in with great signal, but sound halfway intelligible.

Prestonsburg City Police

Just recently dug my scanners back out of the closet, I have a 996T and a BCT 8 and neither of them seem to pick up Prestonsburg City Police anymore. Have they undergone any changes lately such as freq change.

KSP Tac

154.9200 is what they commonly use for Tac or F3. I can only hear the troopers on this freq. if they are in my county/close to me

You won't be able to hear them on the TAC channels unless they are within a mile or two from you. Troopers use them to talk privately when they are close to each other.

Thank you for the reply and info. Is 154.9200 digital or analog? If analog is the a PL/DPL tone?

You have to be pretty close to them to be able to hear them when they switch over.

I figured it was simplex and they were about a quarter miles away... couldn't hear them.

What about tac 1? Frequency, digital?

I never heard them say tac 2 or 4 and above.

154.9200 is analog when used for tac. The database lists it as 162.2 PL, though I personally do not know for sure what PL is in use. In post 16 area, they refer to it as "F3". The database also lists a digital 154.9200 though I have only heard it in analog mode. I have also heard them use 453.3000 (digital).

Something going on with Post 14? I've had KSP on scan for the past couple weeks with both the RS 800Mhz antenna & the stock rubber ducky (which surprisingly works better...) and I'm not picking anything up from KSP...

Are you using a scanner that you have entered the NAC code? If so, try changing to NAC search mode to see if they have changed the NAC codes. This happened to me when one of the Post 2 transmitters changed the a & b frequencies and NAC codes.

Yes, it's a Pro-106 P25 Digital. Post 14 uses 196 & 195 I think IIRC, but I'll try a search and see what I come up with.

You might want to try programming all of post 14's frequencies. That is what I had to do for post 16. The nearest site isn't always the best one.

This is where the strength of having folks submitting info from their hometowns comes in to play with radioreference.com.... dustinoboy's suggestion to program all freqs is good advise, sometimes things happen that make a tower inop or the whole side of a Post might go down.... having all the freqs assures better monitoring...

Post 14's 453.95000 is supposed to be an "A" channel but is a "B"... things change sometimes.... I have a load for my PSR with all the KSP freqs in my AOA forced to search NACs (I also have a search in all the KSP ranges just in case they make a switch to something else...)
As a friend of mine in Frankfort once told me, "Expect the unexpected...."

As always, if anyone has discovered new info, plz submit it....

All the Post 14 frequencies are in together, all are now set to P25 Search for the time being. Still not picking anything up, and I live less than 2 miles from the Ashland base/tower. Which is weird...

Still nothing as of yet. I'll probably post all 16 posts in that bank, and set a P25 scan and let it sit for awhile and see what I can come up with. I literally live 2-3 miles from the Ashland transmitter/Post 14 HQ, so I should be able to pick them up regardless.

You don't have the freq's entered as a P25 System do you? They should be entered as Conventional.
