Using Unitrunker I'm not seeing anything as a peer for the TOW.
I plugged in all the CC's listed for the two TOW's in RRDB with no signal this afternoon.TOW's are standalone trunking systems & are not interfaced to a zone controller. They will not appear as a neighbor on a regular MARCS site & the TOW's don't broadcast any neighbors.
Is there a large event or emergency happening near you right now?I plugged in all the CC's listed for the two TOW's in RRDB with no signal this afternoon.
The TOW trailers are stand-alone, short range sites that can be taken anywhere in the state on an as-needed basis. They have no peer sites, and unless you're pretty close, it's unlikely you'll hear the TOW site itself unless it's on a very tall hill.I monitor MARCS and I'm in southern Lorain County. Using Unitrunker I'm not seeing anything as a peer for the TOW. I see 02-022 with no name or hits. I plugged in all the CC for the two TOW's in RRDB with no signal.

Message: regarding the CVSR, I have a radio scanner that picks up regular rail channels and the Ohio marcs system. I’ve heard the communications on both (62735 TG and AAR57), except the brake test in Akron. Are they using a 2nd marcs talk group for that. I can’t pickup , or another regular RR channel or cell phones ? Also , they talk about channel 16, Thanks so much in advance for your answer . Fred Wheele - please text if possible
When they say channel 16 they are referring to a Marcs talkaround channel (M-T/A).
Program M-T/A 1 and 2 and you’ll be set.

They don't usually tie those in to the rest of the system, so there would not be any peers or adjacents. But they also could have taken it down by now. That was a few months ago.I monitor MARCS and I'm in southern Lorain County. Using Unitrunker I'm not seeing anything as a peer for the TOW. I see 02-022 with no name or hits. I plugged in all the CC for the two TOW's in RRDB with no signal.
Thank you for the correction!!Negative, it's Summit County P25 T/A.
regarding CVSR communications:Negative, it's Summit County P25 T/A.
This is possible if there's not a radio on the 52737 TG in Akron when you're listening. The system doesn't transmit TG's that don't have a radio tuned to it on every tower. It saves the system from being busy broadcasting to nobody.regarding CVSR communications:
When a blogger says they are getting both TG 52735 and TG 52737 in Cuyahoga County . but I have only hear TG 52735 from Akron. Could this be why i am missing the other radio talk from the train , (just between the engineer and conductor, regarding the brake tests and departure orders).
Is there a difference from which county I upload the Ohio-MARCS-IP system on my scanner? There has to be a difference, because if I am listening to the entire Ohio-MARCS-IP system, I would receive from Dayton, Columbus , and others further away. Its Probably that I do not understand it very well. Please help me figure this out. I appreciated the help ! Thanks ! Fred
And this is completely logical for the CVSR, since they usually do their brake tests up north before the trips leave. This is possible if there's not a radio on the 52737 TG in Akron when you're listening. The system doesn't transmit TG's that don't have a radio tuned to it on every tower. It saves the system from being busy broadcasting to nobody.
If you were in range of one of the other sites you could put your scanner on site hold and switch to those sites.
