nick223, the recording feature now is selectable between fixed length (added recently) and the original "VOX" style recording. As far as scanning goes, I've come up with a couple different ways of doing it. Not 100% sure which way I am going to go, but in the end there may be several ways of setting it up (mute all the other channels, mute the other channels in a group, reduced volumes on other channels or routing to different speakers).

I am still having trouble connecting my scanner with the software. Both the scanner and the separate audio both show disconnected when everything is hooked up properly and works in other software. No other programs are using the com port. Also, when is the ability to associate a scanner with an audio input coming. I have attached my log file.

kr0490,
I went thru the log file and RadioLog does everything to fix the issue that I can think of. Could you do this, download the PortMon utility (link below), start it before RadioLog, run RadioLog then send me an email with the results in PortMon. That should give me the specifics of what is going on.

PortMon Link: Portmon for Windows

Joe,

I do not everything that your recently did to the latest upgrade. I have no clue to what the number is now as when I went to upgrade this morning to the latest, it froze my the program , popped up a message say windows not responding, then shut down.

I tried to restart the program, and it shows it in the process, but never did open up and load as in the past.

I then reboot the computer and I still can not get the program to reload. Even thought is shows it tried, when looking in the processes and see it there.

I am going to try to down load the program from the web site and see if it will load. I hope I don't have to reinstall every thing I had set up.

I also do not know if it sent an error dump to you before it froze. Hopefully it did.

t0pk01ne,
First, make a copy of your RadioLog.settings file (directory path is listed below). That has your feed and license information in it. After that, send your RadioLog.txt and RadioLogDump.txt (if there is one) to support@responderapps.com. I have not seen any error dumps this morning, but the error may be coming before that background process has a chance to send the file.

Windows XP Folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\RadioLog
Windows Vista and higher Folder: C:\ProgramData\RadioLog

I experienced a problem with RadioLog that I was able to resolve that might be helpful to those that may experience the same thing in the future using Windows 8.
I did contact Joe about my issue.

I needed to restore my system back to a previous time due to some issues. When I did, RadioLog would not launch, I could not uninstall it and could not reinstall it. It would continue to display an error:

ERROR DETAILS
Following errors were detected during this operation.
* [9/7/2014 3:26:24 PM] System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException
- The referenced assembly is not installed on your system. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B3)

After some research I was able to resolve and reinstall the latest version of RadioLog by deleting the files in the ClickOnce file cached 2.0 folder in windows 8.
(On my PC) PATH: C:\Users\Doug\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0

When I restored my system it reverted to a different version of RadioLog and I believed caused the conflict. Hope this helps someone in the future.

On another issue, I am one of those that when I start RadioLog only about 60% of the feeds will connect, whether I have 7 feeds or 27 feeds.
I know Joe is working on the problem but I was wondering if it might inherent with different operating systems.

Absolutely love the program. We appreciate all the work you are doing on the project Joe.

I have noticed that if I leave the program on and connected to a number of feeds for an extended time (couple of days), the feeds basically go dead, but still say they are connected. This may be something with my computer and not the program, but it would be nice if it said they were disconnected or the program re-started after a set time.

Keep up the great work.

Still having problems with random connections/disconnections when opening. Are there any tricks to getting "All" of the known active feeds to enable when bringing up the software?

I too share the problem. I can run 6 instances of ScannerLive connecting to me to about 55 feeds with no problems.., and 2 Proscans running as well .. but even after shutting them all off, I max out at connecting to only 7 or 8 feeds with Radiolog
Everything else seems to work well, I enjoy the software otherwise

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay. I have been inundated with thousands of spam emails over the past 2 weeks. I have posted a very large update today that resolves numerous issues. For a full list, you can go to ResponderApps - RadioLog Release History As far as the feeds dropping out, I am running a long-term test on 2 machines. 1 has the current release (1.1.0.29) and another has what I think will resolve the issue. It will take several days for that test to run to be 100% sure I have resolved the issue. Basically what is happening is the server stops sending the audio (probably a timeout on the server for maximum connection time), but the socket is never closed. I have added logic to detect that data isn't received in a specific time, and re-connect.
For anyone that is using a scanner or line-in device, you will see a big change in this release. First, I removed the difference between a Mic Line In and a regular Line In. They are now all Line-In devices. Second, the "Add Scanner" option is now removed. Scanners are an option on a per-channel basis. This should make things a lot easier for people to add a scanner into the system. Unfortunately, you may have to setup the scanner and/or line-in again, but this is a one-time issue.

I am still having the issue where only six (on rare occasion seven) feeds can be run.

I have also had no success connecting my BCD436HP to the system. I believe this is on my end (operator error) and looking for some advice on the process for doing this.

Thanks,

Having trouble displaying MDC1200 IDs on the Log Page. It was functioning with earlier versions but I recently notice nothing displays. Is there a setting to disable this function?

How do you add in a scanner to the updated software? I only see how to add sources, with no way to associate a scanner.

I have this semi-understood; but still looking for more information. I have a BCD436HP tied in into my laptop. Audio is a double male 3.5mm jack (scanner to line in). I had to turn the playback on the mic on to hear the scanner.

-Click New Source
-Name Source (this will create a new channel on the main page)
-Click Source Type "Line In" - The Streaming URL changes to Multi-Line In Source
-Determine which Line In is carrying the Scanner audio and select that.
-Enable Channel-1 - This allows you to Name the specific device the Maine Source will log ID's on. The hit OK.(Mine was labeled 436 indicating it's attached to that scanner).
**I don't have something for Channel-2 and not sure how that would work monitoring two different radios w/one Line-In Source. I tried a 3.5mm splitter and it heard two scanner as one Channel).

Both the New Source & Channel-1 Source open as two separate Channels on main screen. The MDC1200 ID will display on the New Source channel, but will log as the Channel-1 source.

-Plug your scanner into the USB/Serial port (mine is USB).
-Click on the Channel-1 (sub) channel settings from main page. The Usual Source Editor appears with the Scanner specific information from earlier versions.
-Select 396/996/436/536 is applicable.
-Select the Serial Port available (it should populate when it recognizes the USB/Serial you plugged in. If nothing's there, it didn't recognize it)

Here is where I don't understand the software anymore. I don't know if it's supposed to have some control or display capability using the Parity, Data Bits, Baud Rate and Stops Bits settings. I also don't know what Unit ID Support is (but I have it on). I'm trying to read more on that.
