On post 2743 you say to open a database file by going to the database menu, I don't have a database menu. I am running version 12.2 of Proscan on a Windows 10 machine. I deactivated Proscan, uninstalled it using Programs and Features in the Control Panel, reinstalled Proscan and reactivated Proscan. When I open Proscan I get a picture of a scanner, above that are the Favorites Editor, Options, Scanner Type, Comm Port, View, Tools, and Support menus. Below the picture of the scanner are the History Logging, UID Logging, Fire Tone Out Logging, Recorder, Source Client, Web Server, Remote Scanner Over IP, Audio Control, Sessions Manager, Tools & Extras tabs. I can't find a way to open a database.

Ignore this post, I just changed the scanner type and now I have a Database menu.

On the BCDx36HP, it's the Favorites Editor. Check the check box and the Favorites Editor will open. If using other than a BCDx36HP, change the scanner type first.

Control Channel info and decoding DMR

First I must say I really like Proscan and have been a user for some time. There just isn't a better way to manage multiple modern scanners. I have multiple BCD996P2s, BCD996XT, BCD996T, BC780XLT and several hand held Uniden scanners.

I see all the data when I turn on C-CH Output. Is there a guide or reference card that can tell me what I am seeing? For example I have "MOT 047,0,7F80, CNM, TG-7F80 CH-047 VC-08527875. Of course there are many other lines formatted differently with different data. I would like to interpret that data.

I just started monitoring DMR. It is new excitement. Using the 996P2 search function I can identify the CC# and Slot. If I find a MotoTRBO system, I need the LCN. The Uniden provided documentation suggests I use DSD+, but after a bit of research I find it a challenge to install and use. Is there another way to more easily decode DMR (and other systems)? Will there be functionality at some point in ProScan that will add DSD+ like capability? Maybe I am guilty of committing some user errors, but I see no information in C-CH when listening to DMR sites.

Thanks for your responses, ideas, etc.

The C-CH Output is more of a Scanner or Trunking question. ProScan doesn't have any role in the detection. It just takes the Control Channel Data Stream Output from the Comm Port and puts it in the grid and/or file. Here is one reference in the following link in the section"Control Channel Data Stream Output"
http://info.uniden.com/twiki/pub/UnidenMan4/BC346XT/BC346XT_Complete_Reference.pdf

Regarding the DMR question: ProScan doesn't have any role in the DMR decoding. Adding DSD+ functionality sounds like a whole new project and where would the antenna connect to? I would learn DSD+. Post your DSD+ questions in the Voice/Control Channel Decoding Software forum

I just discovered that the ProScan C-Ch Output is not getting the DMR messages from the comm. port. Working on fixing it now.

{edit} Email me for the fix.

This probably is OFF TOPIC for ProScan, but just for ANYONE'S information, at the beginning, and at the end of the posts to this thread, I show a Page BOLD 144 followed by a normal 145. Clicking on the 145 returns me to the 144 group of posts. It has been doing this for at least two weeks. No other "Thread" on ANY of the other Forums shows this unusual behavior.

Thanks a bunch. I appreciate it. I will try to learn DSD+. My needs are simple so I hope I can stay out of the deep weeds with it. :)

I've seen this behavior in other threads as well. When a page becomes full of posts, the system automatically generates a link for the next page number, even before there are any posts to go onto the new page. Once the next post is made, the new page will be created (with the new post) and the link will work properly. Until then, clicking the link for the new page will reload the existing page, since the new page doesn't exist yet. I find it really annoying, because I start reading from the top of the page until I discover what happened. The system really shouldn't create a link for the new page until the new page actually exists.

Thanks, now the 145 is alive and it is working correctly.

Its really a shame they can't just give Bob his own single forum. There is so much useful info in this thread, but who wants to pick for hours through the pages? Yes, the search is helpful but there are tidbits of errata that isn't really searchable :)

I'm not sure on why this error. Go to my proscan.org site and download directly using a browser.
What version of ProScan are you using and Windows version?

The Downloads folder on the image doesn't seem right. After \User and before \Downloads should show your name.

Question on UID and history logging. I've got ProScan set to log each transmission new row however I find that when a unit communicates then the dispatcher replies, the dispatchers UID is the one getting logged. The initial unit gets shown on screen at first in the log field but it then changes to the dispatch UID and stays there. Anyone know a way to capture/log all the UID's even if they are in the same conversation?

Yes, Use the UID Logging tab. That's what it's for. Don't use the History Logging tab as that's more geared for TGID's and conv. frequencies with the UIDs changing on same TGID.

DMR Success

After a week or so of experimenting, I am delighted to say I am successfully monitoring DMR with ProScan and my BCD996P2s. It has added a whole new dimension to my scanning hobby. I am still a bit challenged setting up and monitoring some of the trunked DMR systems but am confident I will be successful soon. Thanks Bob for your great help.
