Update to my previous post.

I removed the IP address from the static list on the router.

Now all TCP/UDP/Computer/Scanner ports, are showing values, yet, the UDP NOT CONNECTED message persists.

I also noted that only the TCP Scanner Port and the UDP Computer Port, display fixed values.

Should I open these ports in my router?

I am attempting to listen to the audio from the scanner via wi-fi from the dongle (BCD536HP).

Proscan sees the scanner, no problem.

I've followed the instructions to setup the audio, figured out the IP address of the dongle and used that as the URL, again following the instructions from the help section.

I even gave the wi-fi dongle a static IP in my router.

I still can't get the audio from the wi-fi.

TCP Scanner Port shows a value of 554.
TCP Computer Port, UDP Scanner and Computer ports show nothing.
TCP Not Connected and UDP Not Connected showing.

What should I try to listen to the audio?

I would check the ProScan Wi-Fi URL contains the scanner IP address. Make sure the format is exactly like the Usage Example below the IP box. Make sure no spaces or erroneous characters. Double and triple check.

I would also check that any Internet Security program running is not blocking the connection to the scanner.

Hit the Reconnect button. If all good, the TCP Not Connected and UDP Not Connected messages will go away.

Gcopter1:

There are two BCD536HP Wifi tutorial documents on the lower right hand side of the Proscan.org web home page that might help.

Yes, I've seen that help section. I retyped the scanner's IP address (see screenshot) but the problem persists. I even went into Windows Firewall and made sure the program is allowed. Curiously enough, there's two instances of Pro Scan listed, I checked all the boxes on both to be sure. I'm only running one instance of Pro Scan on this PC.

The URL is not right. I said double and triple check. Look at the URL carefully.

I see a colon and not a dot between "scanner" and "au" unless I'm mistaken. I had to enlarge the image to see it.
So...what is it?

In the manual, there's a colon before scanner and a dot after it.

Just like in my set up.

Are you saying there ought to be a dot before and after scanner?

I assure you, it is typed correctly.

You're right. It looks good.

One other thing: Check that another instance of ProScan or another app is not using the scanner Wi-Fi. The scanner Wi-Fi audio permits only one connection at a time.

ProScan deleting important audio recording files

Whenever I delete the list of recorded files in the ProScan widow itself it deletes all the files that are saved in my custom folder as well. Is there any way around this?
Thanks,

That's by design. The software correctly assumes that if you delete the recordings in the Recorder tab, you want to delete the actual audio files.

The only way around it is to not delete the files in ProScan. Or, copy the audio files to another folder before deleting them in ProScan. Just realize that once you do that, you'll have to use some other software to listen to them.

I had some trouble like this. I removed the Proscan program with revo Uninstaller and scanned it for leftovers from the advanced scan and removed those. Rebooted the computer installed Proscan again and all was well. Not sure if this is you're problem but might want to give it a try.

That other instance of ProScan I mentioned, was an old shortcut.

I went into the Firewall and deleted both instances of ProScan and ran again the program.

Everything works except the audio.

I also note that, there's an intermittence, sometimes, all the ports are working, with the UDP Not Connected message. At other times, both TCP/UDP Not Connected message appears and then there's only the TCP Scanner Port, receiving data.

I'm using Windows 7 running inside a virtual machine, Parallels.

Thanks. Will attempt that later. What terms did you use for the scan? Just "ProScan" or, is there any other term I should use?

Either you have some Internet Security program blocking the connection or you have a Wi-Fi problem such as interference. Are you're not running AVG anti-virus software by any chance? That program is known to block IP traffic.

Not running AVG or any anti virus software. I even turned off both Windows and Mac firewalls to try that and no joy.

I do live in an apartment building so, plenty of wi-fi signals.

Guess I'm screwed. :(
