I have a difficult enough time with two. It seems windows 10 likes to drop drivers and mix things up at times, especially when you introduce USB audio devices. How do you keep them all locked in place?

The Dell is a dedicated Pc also running 7 USB sound cards AUTOUPDATES TURNED OFF
SLEEP on the PC and USB turned off HARDDRIVE turned on all the time no screen saver
Monitor is on KVM so it does not matter runs for months at a time on a UPS BACKUP

Im closing proscan first then rebooting. im goin to try another pc tommorow and see if same problem occurs
Thanks

One work-around found is to put the scanner in MSM via ProScan before rebooting. The scanner then reboots itself and releases the com port while the computer reboots.

To do this in ProScan click on the "Test & Extras" tab
In "Protocol Command" type "MSM,120" then click "Send"
Close Proscan then reboot the computer.

Is there a way to have the program not remember window positions? When I use the computer locally, I have two monitors and will often move ProScan over to the other monitor.. But when I connect in with RDP I'm only using one monitor -- and Proscan ends up hidden off screen.. If there was an option to either reset window positions or not save them, that would be helpful.

Edit - I see the option to reset window positions and sizes is there -- but my primary issue is if I use the view mode in "Display Only (Borderless)", I end up not being able to get the issue resolved.

Thanks,
Rick

I don't know if this is the same issue or not, but my ProScan would not cooperate with my locating it where I wanted it on my screen, would minimize as soon as I clicked on anything, then came back to original (unwanted) position. Made the change to 'Always On Top' and it stayed positioned right where I wanted it, several open instances with several scanners stacked. Now the whole row comes back to my customized position when activated. Hope that helps

Click on proscan on the taskbar then press the Windows key and your left or right arrow key until you see proscan on the correct monitor.

While that will work for normal windows, if the view was in “Display Only (Borderless)”, it doesn’t.

Proscan with a Laptop -

Currently running 2 radios on proscan from my laptop and split the audio input to record from both radios. What is the best setup to be able to add 2 more radios to my laptop? I dont have anymore extra usb ports and how would i be able to get those 2 radios audio to be recorded in proscan? If i get a usb hub that will probably cover the input end but what can i use for the audio end? Anyone running 4 or more radios from a laptop? Thanks

You could use one or more of these with a usb hub. www.amazon.com/Sabrent-External-Ada...qid=1541736721&sr=8-4&keywords=usb+audio+jack I tried it a while back on my home pc and it worked fine.

I’ve read thru a significant amount of this thread (don’t ask, mostly when I am bored at work and the 911 phones aren’t ringing) but can’t remember if I read my answer or not ....

Can proscan be put on a Microsoft surface tablet?

I have a surface tablet sitting around and I wanted to use it in my car and connect it to my scanner.

Yes, as long it's not that neutered Windows version they had for a while.

I've been experiencing the exact same issue...good connection to the RSOIP server, good audio, but no display.

The issue is intermittent, sometimes it clears up after a scanner reboot, but eventually it will start up again. I have troubleshot this on a few different computers, using fresh installs of ProScan of various versions (14.1, 14.2, 14.3) and various 536HP firmware releases.

This issue only happens with the 536HP over WiFi, it does not affect USB connected scanners such as the 996P2. It also seems to have started after the Windows 10 1809 update last month.

Go to the Comm Port menu. Select URL then click the URL Setup button. Enter in the scanner IP address.

Tony,

Same exact issue has recently started here. It keeps occurring between my 536 acting as a server at my house and the client version I use in my office at the 911 Center.

I'm curious, can you tell me which version of Win 10 your're on? I've tried this with several versions of ProScan and nothing helps.

I was able to get the problem resolved by setting up the Com Port area. I had to select the IP address of the scanner and viola. I attached my Win 10 spec.

Well these settings change sometimes. Check Wifi info on scanner again. With my old modem/router the URL first 3 numbers were 192. and the last number changed every couple months. New modem/router URL starts with 10. and last number has never changed

I am not sure if this is possible, but I currently have proscan connected to my 536 via wifi (my system does not play nice with a direct audio connection).

Is it possible to output the audio over to zello, maybe using virtual audio cable or something similar?

*EDIT*

I answered my own question, easy to do with Windows 10.

Ran into an issue when trying to sort all my Fav List.

Proscan 14.3
Win 10 Pro V1803 64 Bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7820HQ CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2904 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
(RAM) 16.0 GB

ProScan stops responding very shortly after starting the sort. I finally ended the task about 30 min after.

Thanks

TCP UDP not connected

I am attempting to listen to the audio from the scanner via wi-fi from the dongle (BCD536HP).

Proscan sees the scanner, no problem.

I've followed the instructions to setup the audio, figured out the IP address of the dongle and used that as the URL, again following the instructions from the help section.

I even gave the wi-fi dongle a static IP in my router.

I still can't get the audio from the wi-fi.

TCP Scanner Port shows a value of 554.
TCP Computer Port, UDP Scanner and Computer ports show nothing.
TCP Not Connected and UDP Not Connected showing.

What should I try to listen to the audio?
