Great, thank you buddrousa!

Yes, I know, maybe I wasn't clear what I was asking. I read that someone found out ProScan would support the BC125AT but only control it, no downloading etc. and I at first thought I could run it with the rest of my scanners on my PC, but after further reading I think they (you?) were talking about audio streaming or feeds or something with the BC125AT other than individual PC control on my PC. Sorry, getting loopy here, eyes are tired after staring at these scanners all day. I think I am going to invest in a pair of UV reading specs lol.

That was me. I have not tried it with Proscan I found the 125at works with radiofeed. I will try later today and see if it works with Proscan.

Ok, one more question. I got everything to work at home with my SDS200 and Proscan through URL choice. Now I am connected to my routers VPN but not able to connect to Proscan using the same steps, but I can not get it to work.

Sorry but I still don't understand.

What it does is control the 125, knobs and buttons can be operated and display is seen on the computer just as any other supported radio. It just doesn't allow for reading and writing of the internal database unless you do it manually.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering. You guys use ProScan on a network for radio feeds and streaming, etc, but I just use it direct out via usb to PC for virtual control. I don't see an option for the BC125AT in ProScan menu, so that is what I was asking about. I program it with the SS program, but didn't think ProScan supported virtual control of the radio.

I don't know how else to explain it. Set the radio type to 325 and it will control the 125.

That's why we were excited to find out it actually worked.

Not sure what you mean - you explained it. Ah, I didn't see where it had to be set to 325. Waiting to see if mule got it working. I will go play around with it later today - thanks mancow

It works in ProScan I went to comm port set the port to none then hit auto select it detected the 125at selected set available port and it came up on the virtual screen. Make sure you select the scanner type as 325p2 so the it will display the scanner display correctly.

That was easy! I copied ProScan.exe to desktop, turned on BC125AT and auto selected port. It did NOT come up as 325, it shows BC125AT as option. It's working great! Thanks guys! And, thanks to Bob for a fantastic program and his generosity!

Question - Update popping up. Do I update just once and it updates all instances/ Or do I have to go thru update for each window/scanner?

I need some help just verifying something with ProScan and my antivirus/firewall.

I know that I cannot use AVG, a paid version or a free version, with ProScan. Now I do have six copies of paid AVG software, the professional version, on PCs. But I'm up for renewal on the bi-yearly license in just 10 more days.

So, I'm wondering if there is a good, problematic free with ProScan, antivirus and firewall program? I'm looking for something that most people would think should be recommended, it is not too expensive, and it is known to work well with ProScan.

If it's not going to cost me a whole lot extra to change my antivirus and firewall and use something new, now is the time for me to do it. Does anyone have any recommendations and please don't worried about mentioning Norton or McAfee. While I use to like Norton I quit using them a long, long time ago. And McAfee assault was even worse than just about anything I hate used.

Thank you for any assistance or recommendations...

Just AVG I can't recommend using with ProScan if streaming due to it interrupts TCP traffic. I haven't heard of any other Anti-Virus software doing it.

Ok, gotcha. I actually just copied the .exe file to desktop as a shortcut and renamed it to each designated scanner. Did I do that wrong? I mean, they are all working great. Same thing, right?

Thanks Bob. I don't plan on really streaming any audio but then again I might like to set up my own private feed? I have one running right now back in the Radio Room but it's not one that I want to make public either. So there is a good chance that somewhere down the line I might want to create another feed and I'm looking at different software for antivirus and firewall use now that I want to get ProScan for some of my computers.

I've had AVG, the paid and licensed copies, for the last 15 + years but I have had a few times where it would not allow me to do something that I use to could override. It's kind of frustrating when you can't make your own mind up on whether you want to allow something, block it or unblock it, or just control it the way you want it to work.

I'm wondering if anybody has any good anti-virus / firewall software they might recommend? Thanks for the reply Bob :)

For anyone testing the BC125AT. Before uploading or downloading, go the the Options -> General tab and uncheck the option "Bypass Scanner Type Check Download & Upload".
