On the Display Only view there is only a Hold and Mute soft key. I am clicking Hold. Mute works as expected.

I looked up BCD436 and see at the bottom you have system dept and channel buttons. Screenshot Try that

The Display Only (borderless view) for the BCD436HP in Proscan does not have the same buttons as your screenshot of the scanner shows. It only has "hold", and "mute".

Oh didn't know that. I did use the "Display only' when I clicked over to it. Guess he has to use the normal display, or do it from the scanner until @ProScan fixes it(if it's broken)

Easy enough to change. I only just started using proscan maybe a month or two ago so I’m still new to how it works which is why it took me so long to get the uid name to work. Can I ask why 3 uid text boxes then? Wouldn’t it make since to just have the before lookup(editable) then uid(not editable)

If the 3 columns bother you that much you can make any of them narrow enough to not show. I use the UID After Lookup regularly to add Alias names as they come across the radio. Very useful column to me.

Do you always upload that, or is that not something you do often?

I record the transactions and in the UID Logging tab I sort by "UID Before Lookup".

I highlight the UIDs that have not had alias names assigned.

I click the Copy/Move selected town button and copy the Selected UID Rows to the UID Lookup file.

When listening to the recordings if a unit says their ID I edit the UID lookup file so I end up with a big file with lines like this.

41111 LOGTEXT=DISP JOHNSON COUNTY
41112 LOGTEXT=DISP JOHNSON COUNTY
93100 LOGTEXT=DISP DIST 52
93101 LOGTEXT=DISP DIST 52
93102 LOGTEXT=DISP DIST 51
93103 LOGTEXT=DISP DIST 51
93140 LOGTEXT=DISP IDHS EOC
93141 LOGTEXT=DISP IDHS

This file is in the ProScan directory and it's called UID Lookup.txt

Once I have enough changes (about once or twice a week) I select all the rows in the file and do the "Get Clipboard" function we covered earlier.

I have my county system pretty much all identified (don't ask how many hours of listening this took) and I'm working on the area State Police Posts.

All this to say this is totally an optional function & other that putting the unit alias on the screen (and maybe triggering an alert) is more icing on the cake than anything else. I wouldn't lose much more sleep over it.

A couple of feature requests:
  1. Have the ability to hit the minimize or close button and the app will go to the system tray.
  2. When restoring from the system tray, restore to its last window size. I keep it full screen, but after restoring from the system tray, it goes to some other default.
  3. Have the core of the program run as a service, and the UI simply interacts with this service. This would help greatly on a machine that requires login to the desktop, as the service would be running in the background. If this option were implemented, #1 would not be required.
  4. Horizontal slider in the middle of the UI to make the virtual radio larger or smaller, based on user need.

This is about the clearest explanation of what I am trying to accomplish.

To label my UID's

I'll give this a try. Thanks! (y)

If you don't mind, all suggestions should be via email so I can send test files to insure done right and they get on the priority list. That being said, I have years worth of items to do so it can be a while before there considered.

Sure thing. I wasn't sure the appropriate method. Support@proscan ok?

Years? Wow. It would be cool to have something like connect.microsoft.com where users can vote on feature requests. Of course, that's another feature request. ;)

Just have to say I've been with ProScan for about 6 months now. This is some pretty damn cool software. I'm not a computer or tech guy, just someone addicted (lifelong) to scanners. Learning different operations of the software one step or function at a time. This is a great support group and I could not have done anything without direct support from ProScan Bob and this group because Im an idiot. Not sure if he's a one man operation or not but if so, need to raise your prices! All of my issues are/were operator error and Bob saved the day! From Web Server setup to now recording only selected channels of the hundreds of channels/talk groups programmed. Just want to give thanks for all the effort put in to ProScan along with user input to make improvements as needed. Thank you for this software. All hail Bob! (my opinion)

RSOIP No Longer works for me. Not sure if it stopped when my computer updated windows, or when I started getting those pop-up boxes telling me there is an update.
1) Can I turn off the check for update? When I tried to update - my anti-virus software said NO.
2) Why did my RSOIP stop working?

Go to the Options - Startup tab and uncheck "Check For Newest Version Upon Start Up And Once A Day"
Can you try to connect to other servers?

Thanks for your reply - i unchecked the "Check for newest version"......
I have only used this for my personal, private setup - Is there a list of public servers that I can view to try?

Click the "Update" button on the RSOIP Client screen for a list of RSOIP servers.

Thanks for your help - I narrowed it down to my DynDNS Service Provider. I can connect via IP address, but it will not connect via my dynDNS service. It worked for several months, but at least now I know exactly where to look.
