The waterfall performance on the LAN and USB should be exactly the same. Double and triple check non-waterfall operation to see if still sluggish. Power cycle the scanner and see what happens.

The waterfall data from the scanner is relatively small compared to the other returned data.
Waterfall data is 726 characters and the other return data is 2042 characters.

{edit} Also may want to reboot your router and computer.
Just for testing I installed this on another PC on my LAN. Both of these PC's have more than enough horsepower both RAM and processor wise. After seeing it initially run fine I am seeing it periodically exhibit the same behavior I mentioned earlier. This is using the version you released this morning but I did see the lag on one PC prior to the new version.

Another issue I'm seeing: On both PC's I am also having difficulties double clicking to tune. When double clicking I see the "wait" icon but in just about every case it does not change frequency. I say "just about" as it did work once on each PC. This is happening in the standard scanner view and the resizable option. I am using the "Frequency Pointer >>> Marker Frequency (nearest step) option in the "Frequency Pointer Double Click Mode". I have rebooted both the SDS200 and ProScan, and rebooted again just now, and immediately had the problem with the pointer not tuning. This is with a center frequency of 155.000 MHz, step size 2.5 kHz, and 2.88 MHz span.

I'm apparently having a bad ProScan day. I can't have a bad hair day because I don't have any.

Yes, was going to suggest this if the line is didn't work. Came to mind after I posted previously. I use that exact model on a computer to get an extra line in. That should solve your problem, @Saint and @Kelita

But, to answer the "how do you get a line in" question, your computer should have a jack on it somewhere that is a line in or can be a combo line in/headphone jack. But not all headphone jacks are a combo. If in doubt, the USB thing is a handy way to go. Then you connect line from the scanner to the purple/pink jack and you're good. It will then show up as an input in the Windows sound settings; verify that before working with ProScan.
Ok thanks! I didn't want to ask what line I needed to use because I didn't want to sound dumb lol. I'll get it purchased.

Folks, In the latest ver. 22.6, I'm getting several reports of Windows Security/Defender reporting a false-positive when the zip file is downloaded. It has been reported to Microsoft.

To get around the problem in Win 11. I'm not sure on other versions.
1. In the Windows Security screen, click on "Virus & threat protection".
2. Click the "Severe" drop down.
3. Select "Allow on device".
4. Click the "Start actions" button.

@ProScan I want to thank you for your help! The adapter works like a charm! My computer has 2 USB ports and they are right next to each other so the scanner USB wouldn't fit next do the dongle. Luckily I had a USB C to USB adapter for my Mac that works perfectly and I am BACK ONLINE!! I really can't thank you guys enough for your patience and help.

Further observation on the issue I'm having with the waterfall.

When using the option "Frequency Pointer >>> Center Frequency (nearest step)" tuning is instant and works every time. So it's only when using "Frequency Pointer >>> Marker Frequency (nearest step)" that is causing issues. I will go back to USB to recheck, but in my case going forward it is my intention to use the URL setup for ProScan.

I have ProScan running 2x with a BCD996T and a BC785D. Once I finally realized I needed to rename my two microphone jacks individually in Windows, I started getting great recordings on the 996T. The 996T is scanning 10 analog channels flawlessly. The 785D is only scanning two analog channels to make sure I get those recorded, but it's not working out so well. The 785D keys up immediately and I hear the full transmission from its speaker. ProScan's meter shows a good signal from beginning to end, but when I listen to the recording, the first five or so seconds are missing. What's most strange is that it cuts it off about 4 out of 5 times, and the 5th is a perfect recording.

Both ProScans are set up the same other than the obvious changes for scanner type, mic input, and com port. The computer is an older surplussed Optiplex 7020, i5-4590 with 8gb ram running Win10 Pro 22H2. I've added a couple frequencies to the 785D that are also on the 996T to compare the two recordings. I'm getting the full transmission on the 996T, so it doesn't seem to be a system issue. Any idea what's going on?

If this option is checked, uncheck it and see what happens.

I dug out some sticks of ram, so I'm now at 16gb. CPU usage is 1% to 4% and RAM is at 13% with both ProScans running. Since Windows likes to grab up extra RAM, ProScan x2 is probably using a decent amount less. I've got some weather rolling through so the PD and SO are pretty quiet right now. It should pick back up a little for another hour or so and I can reevaluate.

I would power cycle the scanner 1st.
2nd, See if the problem is a control problem or audio problem by going to the Recording tab, then see if the red line (indicating current recording) comes on instantly with the traffic or is delayed.
Also check that the baud rate in the scanner and ProScan is at the highest that the scanner supports.
If all else fails, then swap instances of ProScan with the scanners to see if the problem follows the scanner or the instance of ProScan.

Im running 14 instances of ProScan and 4 zello feeds on 1 computer with a 40" tv and a 24" computer monitor as displays on an Intel i3 with 8 gig of ram and it has no issues keeping up.
I record from 2 996P2s and 2 796s and no audio issues with any of them.
I did have a 796 running a Broadcastify feed at one time that had some varying volumes coming out of the record out 3.5 and it would drop audio on the feed. I moved the audio out to the speaker out and gave it a little more boost and it fixed it....If that helps.

I'm everywhere Focker!
I'll admit I could be doing something wrong, but I can't get the WF "max hold" to work.

To confirm it's "Func", then "Max Hold"? When I do that it beeps and goes back to the normal screen and no max hold happens.

SDS200 using ProScan 22.6.

Yes. "Func", then "Max Hold". In ProScan, big knob double click then "Max Hold".
I see that the scanner display holds but the data sent from the scanner shows normal or not holding.

Are you seeing this when you open the Favorites Editor? If so, you need to first open an existing favorite list, or create a new favorite list... then those tabs will be active.

From the top menu bar in the editor window.... File ---> New (or open).
