ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

ProScan Activation Process Hacked?
I have to call out a user. @xxbubziexx for this hack. I'm not sure why he would do this other than just being an Adam Henry.

I haven't tried it so I don't know if it works. I have seen 20 (approximately) users a month from various countries using this hack for some time. (Each month same users). A very small percentage when thousands are using my program monthly. Sales are brisk and it doesn't seem to cause damage but it's more of a principle. At least half of the ones that tried it ended up purchasing a license.

@ProScan I am not laughing at you. I am laughing at the hackers. The saying is, 'You get what you pay for'. The hackers didn't pay for a license, so. They can only get the free-client version.

Had something weird happen with Proscan 24.1 Must not have installed properly when I updated it. On the web server the boxes for selecting State and County wouldn't show anything just a blank box. Couldn't even type anything in. I reinstalled that version (note this is the second ProScan folder) it all works normally now. One folder is my feed scanner and the other is my private scanner. Both have RSOIP and Web Servers running. The first instance for the Feed was normal.

I just purchased a 536 from the classifieds, I have working. Wifi is connected to Proscan but will quit after a day. I suspect the IP is dynamically assigned. How do I manually set the IP address to be permanent? The menu system for the 536 is quite different from my SDS so, I'm a little confused. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks

EDIT: ok, I just restarted the scanner, it seems to keep same IP assignment. I guess my question is why do I loose the wifi connection daily?

Does it happen on both the data and audio?
Can you go into the URL Setup on the audio side and see if you have a high packet loss? That will indicate a Wi-Fi signal problem.
You may want to temporarily disable any antivirus software for a test.

Most likely your router is handing out 24 hour DHCP Leases after a drop and renew the Uniden Scanners BCD536 and SDS200 have to be power cycled I have been running multiple 536's and SDS200's with static address with my Microtek Small Office Router for months at a time with out drops.

On the computer running ProScan go through your power config and ensure nothing is set to sleep, hibernate, etc. Also, you can change a few advanced settings for USB and WiFi interfaces to disable power-saving:




Disable USB selective suspend (may not apply to you if you're not connected to the scanner over USB serial but it shouldn't hurt anything):

That will at least keep Windows from messing with those interfaces to save power. The scanner itself I'm unsure how to assign a static IP on it (I have a SDS100 over USB serial) but you could likely get into your router and do it from there in the DHCP server settings. Add a new static DHCP mapping, enter your desired IP and the scanner's MAC address.

On my ProScan Windows laptop I also use a tool called TCPOptimizer from SpeedGuide.net :: TCP Optimizer / Downloads which tweaks the interface settings and tcp stack to enable higher performance settings. You run it elevated as an administrator then select the WiFi (or all) interfaces, pull the bandwidth bar all the way to the right (highest speed), select "optimal" at the bottom of the screen and click apply. You'll need to reboot after making the changes. Those changes may help a bit.

To set a static IP for your Uniden SDS200 scanner, navigate to the Network Settings on the scanner's menu, select Wired Network, and then change the protocol from DHCP (Automatic) to Static Address. You will then need to input a unique IPv4 Address, IPv4 Netmask, and IPv4 Gateway that are compatible with your network.

OK, I'm drawing a blank...what should I check? I pulled my card from the SDS200 in my truck yesterday and did some updating to it using ProScan. Checked differences between the db and what I had, updated some location settings (can't stand it when a db admin has set location to a huge ring that extends wayyyy into neighboring states...), etc.

Put the card back in the scanner as I was leaving to head to work this morning. Scanner boots, loads (and shows) all of the favorites, then the tri-tone and "Nothing to Scan" comes up. Checked FLs, etc., and they are on. Why is it saying nothing to scan now? I exhausted all of my ideas on the drive in to work earlier. Thoughts?

Checked these things on the drive in and all looked correct. Thus my question. 'Seasoned veteran' here so it has me stumped.

Just the borders of systems. Ridiculous that they put them in spanning 100+ miles into neighboring states for a statewide talkgroup, for example.

I’ve done it countless times before with no issue but I’ll double check it later.

OK, update: So, I decided to open Sentinel (yuck) and read the SD card. Everything showed as it should, etc. I did, however, notice that in the Profile Editor, under the location section, it was showing all zeros for both lat and lon. Now, I have a GPS in my truck that normally manages the location but I went ahead and deleted that zeros one and added my zip. Put the card back in the SDS200 in the truck and all good; scanning again. But noticed no GPS indicator at the bottom of the display so I was thinking maybe my GPS died or the settings are wrong. Bingo. Somehow the GPS setting got changed to 4800 instead of 9600 as needed for the GPS. Changed to 9600 and...golden.

So...apologies for the question. Not blaming ProScan at all (unless somehow it did it) but that was the issue. I didn't intentionally change it (nor have I been in the location settings) but it got changed somehow so I'll blame myself. Live and learn. Everyone have a great week!

Is it possible that the new Profile Editor functionality in Proscan reset your gps settings and location? Is this the first time you have updated your programing with Proscan since the profile editor was added? (I haven't used it myself, so I may be off base here)
