ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

I may not understand the question because Apache/IIS are Web Servers and ProScan is a Web Server. ProScan is a scaled down Web Server with the home page generated within the program. ProScan runs on the Microsoft 2.0 NET Framework.

I doubt it but you may know more about that then me.

I downloaded the proscan 30 day trial. I want to listen to Orange County CA Animal Control which is Orange County talkaround Silver 1 (153.900). I'm sure that's the correct freq. I can't figure out how to install this freq in the proscan software?

Open ProScan, click on database, Download from scanner, SAVE THIS FILE, then were you see the list of systems click on the plus symbol the tree will expand then click on the plus symbol again on the right of the tree you will see an area that says on the header channel name, frequency, Etc. high light the bottom of the list by right clicking on it then on the top of the list click on Add a menu will drop down then in that menu click on Channel a blank space will appear put in the channel name, frequency, and so on, then when you are done
upload to scanner.

I do not have Download From Scanner option in the database drop down menu. I only have new, open, close, save, save as, inport and export/print.

Ok, try this, under the heading on the top of the page click on View check mark Normal Display you should see your scanner display and under that you will see a bunch of folder headers one will have a heading marked Database click on Systems this is were you will find the options of Download From Scanner, Upload To Scanner, Add, Delete, Copy, Paste, Expand Tree, Etc. Then fallow the other post.

When I click on Download From Scanner, I get an error message: A DATABASE FILE MUST BE OPEN. CLICK ON THE DATABASE MENU AND CLICK NEW OR OPEN. Didn't think this player was going to be so difficult. Thought it would be more user friendly and not to the point I would have to configure it. Just want to enter a frequency and listen...!

Configuration is such a necessity. Especially nowadays with all kinds of systems.
How many systems do you attend to program? If you want to just listen to the one frequency 153.900 then you can enter it in the Frequency box top left section of the program but then the scanner is locked on that frequency and not function as a scanner.

The ProScan message I think is clear. A database file needs to be opened before downloading.

Do the following:
Click on the Database menu located in the top left section of the program. Next click on New and type in a name. Now a database file is opened and you can Download.

I do not see any tree on the right side (system). At this time, I only want to listen to 153.900 or Orange County Animal Control Silver 1.

The scanner is not communicating with ProScan.

Do you have a serial/RS-232 cable connected from the scanner to the computer?
Is ProScan Comm. Port set to the same as the computer port?
Is ProScan Baud rate set to the same as the scanner baud rate?
What type of scanner do you have?

[EDIT] A fast and easy way to listen to one frequency without configuring ProScan is direct enter the frequency in the scanner. Read the scanner manual at http://info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view/UnidenMan4/UnidenScannersUsersGuides or the Easier To Read manual at http://marksscanners.com/ I can tell you but then you may not learn how the scanner operates. When you finish reading the manuals and still can't figure it out, then I or other can help.

I may have misunderstood this whole process. I do NOT have a scanner hooked up to my computer. There is no additional hardware attached to my computer. I was planning on using the computer/proscan software to listen to 1 frequency thru my computer.

Not a problem. I guess you thought ProScan was a scanner? ProScan is Computer Aided Software connected to supported scanners. It takes an antenna and scanner or someone in your area streaming that frequency.

Just go to your old computer and in Proscan you will find Tools menu, once in there you will see "Remove Activation" that will allow you to activate your new computer with your same code.

Unless I am missing the obvious, I cannot locate where to edit the band plan for existing P25 systems. The radio allows it so I can make the adjustments in the scanner but not in Proscan (6.3)
It doesn't show up for 700MHz or 800MHz systems.

if I remember right, you dont need a band plan for true p25 systems. the scanner receives the band plan from the control channel. no need to adjust it.

I am programming a new P25 800MHz system that needs a custom band plan. Once the system is programmed into the scanner, I can go and edit the band plan through the menu (996XT or 396XT). The HomePatrol allows custom plans in the Uniden software.

OK I understand what your trying to do, but you don't need a custom band plan on a p25 system. so why is there a need to edit it?
