ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Dear Bob! Could you please look into?

Custom Search - Search Status unticks spontaneously after reading of scanner. Even you even just ticked all of searches and written everything to scanner, you will see only first (sometimes second) search ticked after the next scanner read. Windows 7 ProScan 10.1. BCT15X with 1.03.00 Firmware. Checked with a few BCT15X scanners. And they are all the same.

Is it bug or something?

It sure would be more helpful if we could have a sub-forum for ProScan so that issues can be posted as individual threads. This thread is virtually useless from a historical perspective with trying to solve problems because it is so large.

I've been thinking of switching to ProScan. The size of this thread is a little intimidating when I will need help with a feature. The last thing I want do is plug up the thread when I miss an obvious technique.

That was my experience exactly. I just ended up emailing the developer, which really is a waste of his time answering questions that I'm sure have already been asked and are probably somewhere in the 100 pages or so of this thread.

Just as an aside, ProScan is a great piece of software, well worth the price. The developer is responsive as well. You can't go wrong with it.

I'll look into this before the next release.

Is there any additional information on using importing talkgroup information into the database other than what is in the help file? The help file has about 2 sentences. The help file does not really say much about what format the data needs to be in the clipboard. It does not say if you can import descriptions or just frequencies. I copy some test data to the clipboard (one frequency per line) and chose the import option. When I clicked the 'get', nothing showed up in the list of what it should have copied from the clipboard. Something like the "EZ-GRAB" from Freescan would be great.

Only the frequencies can be imported via the Clipboard at this time and no trunking talk groups or descriptions. The EZ-GRAB" type of feature is high on the list. I have a few items before that one.

Are there any tweaks for optimizing audio recording?

The recent upgrades to Proscan are just awesome it's really a joy to have.

Recently I made a couple of upgrades to my PC running Windows 7 adding a solid state drive as the C:\ drive and adding additional memory for a total of 16 GB RAM.

I want to optimize the amount of recorded transmission audio received by my BCD 996XT, to as much as is practical. I listen to recordings a lot to fill in the gaps when out of hearing range of the receiver. Are there any adjustments or tweaks in Windows 7 settings that would help do so?

To add a second instance - a second scanner simultaneously - to Proscan, what is needed in the line of hardware besides an extra receiver?

A serial to USB adapter for the data.

For the audio: If you have a Line In input now then you can connect one scanner to the Left channel and the other scanner to the right channel.

If this was not asked yet....does the latest ProScan work on Win 8.1 and Win 10? If so, I'd seriously consider the $50 price for keeping my old Bearcat 396XT updated and for use in future Bearcats. Thank you.
