ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

If I minimize the app and then click on the icon to bring it back it locks up. Only way to run it is to go to task mang. kill the app and then relanch

I can't duplicate the problem besides I only work on bugs or potential bugs via email. Anyone who has reported bugs via email always gets test files to see what's going on and help fix the problem.

Back to 17.1 all is well again
If you want to help fix the bug, send me an email. Attach the ProScan.cfg file so I can test using your options, and send me the Event Viewer.txt file. The files are located in the application folder.

Bug Reporting

If you discover a bug, sent an email to support@proscan.org . The advantage of email is so I can ask questions and send you production quality files with additional testing to help fix the bug. The person reporting the bug will get the fix sooner then waiting for the next release.

Bug Reports - Advise on the following:
  • Product (ProScan, Free Client, or RadioFeed):
  • Version:
  • Scanner type:
  • Scanner firmware version (if applicable)
  • OS type:
  • Options pertaining to the bug:
  • Describe in detail what the bug is doing or not doing:

Any way to delete columns in history logging?
Negative. What about dragging the columns over to the right side so they are not in view? Click the column header then hold down the left button then drag the column over. You can also decrease the width of the columns.

Bob, I wanted to thank you!!!! (y) (y) (y) (y) (y) (y) (y)

I have seizures. So, Several times I have had tremors. That caused me to click on 'Upload', instead of 'Close', when having just completed an upload to the scanner. The 'warning' pop-up, has kept me from damaging my scanner.

Kudos to you
You're welcome! That's the very reason it's like that. Glad to hear it's working as intended.

I do not think this is a Proscan issue, but maybe it is. I got the webserver working behind my router. I wanted to be able to access it from outside my network. I've setup port forwarding, and even tried adding my IP address to the DMZ in my router. I am connected to my cable modem and not behind multiple devices. I also own my modem so I have access to the settings. I get a time out error when connecting.

OK the wording they used for setting up the port forward tripped me up. After trying some "this and that" I got it to work. It was basicly a formatting issue with port forwarding.

I do have another question on the webserver. I've read the manual but I do not see it. Is there a way to "control the scanner" as if I am sitting in front of the server? Such as pulling up recordings, seeing history, and possible adjusting scanner parameters?

I know I could do something with VNC, but wondering if there is another way.

You can control the scanner when you log in with the Serve Scanner Control Mode or Super User password. I recommend Super User Mode. If you want the History Logging and Recorder remotely then use the RSOIP feature. You can also access the Recordings on the server using the Web Server feature if you log in with the Super User or Serve Folders & Files Mode.

I haven't heard of that before on 17.2. I'm not sure why that is without any details provided.
Here is the link to 17.1. https://www.proscan.org/ProScan_17_1.zip
Advise if that works.
I too am having a problem with 17.2. Starts and works OK but after a few minutes, closes on it's own. Went back to 17.1 and no problem, the program will stay active until I shut it off.

Is it possible to delete the rows in the recorder grid but not have them deleted from the folders on the machine?
One way is to go to the Start Up options and uncheck the Load Recording Data then restart ProScan.
Another way is to copy the Main Recording Folder to another location then delete all the rows.

Im using Proscan to log and tag uids. Just wondering where in the recording does it determine the uid when there are multiple, even with the 'each transmission new row' checked. It seems almost inconsistent. Sometimes it is the beginning of the transmission, and sometimes at the end.

Thanks
