ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Is it possible that the new Profile Editor functionality in Proscan reset your gps settings and location? Is this the first time you have updated your programing with Proscan since the profile editor was added? (I haven't used it myself, so I may be off base here)

It would be the first time since that was added, yes. I guess just double-check it when you do, just in case. Could be a fluke or an error on my part, though I know I haven't messed with those settings either on the scanner or in the software until I fixed it this evening.

I don't update often, but when I do I read the radio before updating and it will save my current location. I've also done a lot of boundary tweaking for the same reason you have.

Yeah, I didn't read it first this time like usual. I think that was where I messed up. Oh well, got it back now so good to go. Live and learn. The location stuff is super handy but has some frustrations, mostly just due to what is, in my opinion, sloppy entry. But maybe the back end of the db is a pain to deal with and doesn't lend itself well to being better, no idea.

My guess offhand is if not reading the scanner profile first and just creating a new profile in ProScan, the zipcode may be overlooked and will be set al all zeros and will overwrite the zipcode in the scanner. I'm going to look at this tomorrow morning.

Likely so. My fault. As I said initially, not blaming ProScan but just asked in this thread since it was ProScan that I was using. I suspect it will not be an issue in the future as I saved the profile info, etc., now. Thanks Bob!

OK, update: So, I decided to open Sentinel (yuck) and read the SD card. Everything showed as it should, etc. I did, however, notice that in the Profile Editor, under the location section, it was showing all zeros for both lat and lon. Now, I have a GPS in my truck that normally manages the location but I went ahead and deleted that zeros one and added my zip. Put the card back in the SDS200 in the truck and all good; scanning again. But noticed no GPS indicator at the bottom of the display so I was thinking maybe my GPS died or the settings are wrong. Bingo. Somehow the GPS setting got changed to 4800 instead of 9600 as needed for the GPS. Changed to 9600 and...golden.

So...apologies for the question. Not blaming ProScan at all (unless somehow it did it) but that was the issue. I didn't intentionally change it (nor have I been in the location settings) but it got changed somehow so I'll blame myself. Live and learn. Everyone have a great week!
I have 2 SDS 200 scanners with GPS, one uses 4800 Baud the other 9600 Baud, when my GPS stops showing up I change it back as Sentinel uses one of the other but not both even with different files for each scanner

Tried downloading from the app and the website. Windows 11 keeps insisting it is a virus and refuses to run. I hate Windows. Am I overlooking a setting that I need to change to get this to run?

Are there any plans to enable you to copy & paste in the Location settings?

It would be a great help if we could copy & paste the GPS data as a complete table when we use rectangles while programming the SDS 100/200 radios.

Right now I can copy the data but I can't paste it back as a whole. I have to do it one cell at a time.

ProScan Version 24.2 Just Released!
  • Added - UBCD160DN & UBCD260DN scanner support.

I have a problem trying to upload channel list to UBCD160DN with trial version of ProScan (24.2), when channels are created by Database Editor.

It seems like it is uploading the list, the bar that shows the status of the upload shows it is uploading ok, no error messages after upload so it looks like everything went fine - but there is no channels in the scanners memory after uploading, only empty channels like before the upload.

So I tried to add one test channel by scanner's keypad (not by ProScan) and then downloaded it to ProScan from the scanner - this works, also when uploading this same channel back to the scanner. So data is moving, upload/download works but not when channel list is created by Database Editor. :unsure:

When comparing channel data in Database Editor both (the one created with the scanner's keypad and other with the Editor) seems equal (frequency/name format and other channel properties).

Any ideas what could be the reason for this?

Is the 'Send Selected Banks' box (in the blue rectangle) checked?
Is the highlighted selection bar (in the red rectangle) moving as each bank is uploaded?

Yes to both, screenshot attached.

I also tried to toggle "Send Settings" but no help.

I noticed that Bank names has been uploaded to scanner, but channel data is empty;
from scanner's MENU
-> Program Channel
-> Select Bank (shows uploaded bank name)
-> Edit Channel shows empty channel data: "CH201 0.0000".

Screenshot from Database Editor, channel data ok there. Tried also to change "Audio Type" to analog but no help.

@Mark64
Can you send me a bug report? Please keep it simple and to the point. No screenshots initially. Attach the database file. I'll schedule this tentatively for the middle of next week.

If you discover a bug, send an email to support@proscan.org. The advantage of email is so I can ask questions and send you production quality files with additional testing to help fix the bug. The person reporting the bug will get the fix sooner than waiting for the next release. Put "bug" in the Subject line. Bug Reports received via email in this format are assigned the highest priority.

Example:
Product (ProScan, Free Client, or RadioFeed): ProScan
Version: 24.1
Scanner type: BCD325P2, BCD996P2
Windows version: Win 11
Options pertaining to the bug: Describe in detail what the bug is doing or not doing: The PL and DPL codes are not appearing in the history log when in Close Call mode

Folks, I need testers, mainly if using the UBCD160DN to test if the channels upload correctly.
  • Fixed - UBCD160DN & UBCD260DN - Service List and Service Search grids weren't showing the services correctly.
  • Fixed - Profile Editor - When more than 16 frequencies are in the Avoided Frequencies list & IFX Frequencies list, only the first 16 are transferred to the scanner.
  • Fixed - UBCD160DN - Uploading channels weren't working correctly.
This test version is still version 24.2. If all is good, I'll put this in the 24.3 release.

Unzip and copy the files over the originals. Stop ProScan 1st.

I just purchased a new Lenovo laptop running Windows 11 home. I am using Proscan 24.2 (latest as of this post) with an SDS200 running on LAN. Everything works flawlessly, except that . . . . some hours later I am losing communication with the scanner. I am unable to auto-locate the scanner or restart it from proscan. The only way to re-establish connectivity is to physically restart the scanner. The windows defender firewall is wide open (all TCP/UDP poert) for c:/proscan/proscan.exe. I am using bitdefender antivirus free, so no firewall there. I looked on the network for possible IP conflicts, but nothing found.
