6 meters

Low band has been hot with DX the past few days.
Has anyone heard any signals on 6 meters.

I have been hearing and working Martinsville Tx., Nashville, Tallahasee, Fl. and many more in the surrounding states.

I have a repeater on 53.710 here in Southern New Jersey. It has been very active the past couple of days.
Signal reports would be appreciated.
There is another repeater in New York State in the Catskill Mtns. on 53.730 which is very active, wondering if anyone has ever heard that system.

Thanks.

It does not run a tone on transmit, however to get into it the pl is 74.4

Not sure what the tone is for 53.730. I can do some digging for you though if you are interested.

53.71 ID's at the top of every hour from 7AM to 11PM. That may make it a little easier to look for

Do you mean Missouri Highway Patrol on 42.xxx mhz?

KCKS PD is 800 Moto trunking and KCMO PD is 800 EDACS trunking.

Thanks, that was likely it. I heard references to KC and Jefferson City, but didn't specifically look up any agency. I just knew it was coming from Missouri and wrongly assumed it was KC.

I hear 30.700 PL118.8 on the regular when the band is open, I had my radio on limit search for 29.510 to 32.980 MHz while driving from Richmond, VA to Fairfax, VA last night and heard those guys quite a few times, along with some Spanish speaking stations in the 30.9xx range and a US Military range control station booming in on 30.450. The CB was pretty much unusable for the entire trip and channel 38 LSB was so busy that people were asking to QSY above channel 40. Looks like its going to be an interesting summer

Yeah, 38LSB is the de facto sideband calling channel for CB now, with people QSYing to 37 or 39, 40, etc, but when the band opens people just seem to call out frequencies to switch to, I was listening to 38LSB earlier this morning and a station from Canada got on and said "QSY to 27.440, four four zero, 73s"...some of these 11 meter guys are more professional when it comes to DXing than some hams I've talked to!
