Those are old IDs and are being changed with new radios. There are also still a few 33xxx UCONN IDs, 54xxx UASI IDs as well as the remaining 65xxx CSP dispatch consoles. Eventually they will be removed or changed but it isn't interfering as some of the towns (Avon, Barkhamsted, etc) either have no radios on the system or have so few it isn't an issue.

With any luck, Barkhamsted will soon. Depends on AFG.

Thanks so much for the info. I know I've had a lot of questions and you guys have been fantastic about getting them answered!

How do you find towns for the lower talkgroups?
I have dsd setup in farmington that only locks on new britains site, but when I check it, it's got a lot of hits on TG 3051, 3052, 2095..

I can't seem to figure out how to get the tax code to work on these.
40104 and 48864 I know I just subtract the 10,000 and search the tax code that way.
Thanks in advance

3051, 3052 fall into the area of the State Department of Corrections. Remember, there are many state agencies that use the system. Connecticut has 169 towns/cities. Highest group numbers you should see for municipal use should be 269XX. Not all municipalities are on the network.

Would anyone be willing to share a file they made for the CLMRN in Freescan? I'm still trying to get my file to work on a BCD996P2. At one point it was working, but for some reason now it is not. Thanks so much!

I never used freescan but isn’t it super outdated?
you should give @ProScan software a try. it’s 30 day trial with all options unlocked. I haven’t had issues using it with my sds100

I know that with the radio ID's, there are exceptions for municipalities that do not participate in CLMRN, with the municipality code reallocated to a different agency (i.e. 4xxxx radio ID's assigned to CT Transit rather than the town of Avon, who elected to build their own system and opt out of CLMRN)

Most others follow the MMMxxxx format. Except when they don't :)

I believe the same system is in place for the talkgroups...a great example of a department that " plays by the rules is Bloomfield, talkgroup 11101, first radio ID 111001 :)

I have the file I'm mirroring the radio ID wiki from in CSV format, looks like this:

; Bloomfield Police Department
P25, BEE00.3A9, 11101, 111001, 50, Normal, 108, 2021/11/23 10:44, "Some ### Bloomfield Cop"

From left to right, it has columns for the communication protocol, site ID, talkgroup, radio ID, priority level, priority mode, call count, date/time, and alpha tag.

On a cursory look at Freescan, it seems as though it can export in CSV, but can only import in one of the proprietary scanner formats. I'm not too sure what their software bakes in besides the data in CSV format.

However, there is an easy solution for importing CSV and other similar data to Freescan, detailed here:

If you'd like to give it a go, I'd be happy to send you what I have so far.

I have a quick question or two. Why are the Northwest Public Safety TG’s listed in Litchfield County? NWPS is in New Haven County.

Also, has anyone heard any plans to add CMED channels to the system to allow hospital patches? Naugatuck EMS is trialing a few radios currently and planning to move to the system eventually.

NWCTPS covers both litchfield and new haven counties, as well as providing CMED services in fairfield county as well. My guess to why it is considered a Litchfield County talkgroup would be that it's primary site is troop L simulcast, but that's just a guess.

There area already some CMED channels on the system, and likely will be more in the future.

Thanks Ty. I’m in Naugatuck on Saturday. Interested to see how the portables work in town. Probably better than our own system.

valley shore has a talkgroup called "med alpha" which is essentially used as a med channel. There has been talks at NW of having some med talkgroups added as well, if I had to guess, I'd say they would just be added to the standing patches now, i.e Med 5, 19 ER, and med tg X, med 6, 20 ER, and med tg Y, and so on.......

Gotcha. My guess is that we are using the NW TG 2 patched to our channel for trials, but I’ll know more Saturday.
