Selfridge A-10's.

Heard DEMON 11 x 2 flying after 06:30pm Saturday, while driving to a friends house. I don't know if any other A-10's were flying? 3 flights in one day. The A-10's should fly Sunday morning.

I've heard that before also AUX AIR, as in Auxilary air. Think they are reserve Coast Guard? They do patrols along the river with different aircraft. I've heard them land at Grosse Ill, & Pontiac airport.

Aux Air are US Coast Guard Auxiliary aircraft. Very similar program to CAP, but they aren't currently authorized to use CAP frequencies.

A friend is telling me that at the river the coast guard chopper has been making passes for quite a while ..down the river
slowing down & hovering at some spots ,..he thinks it looks like some sort of training ,i dont hear him talking to anyone ,....I would assume its just increased patrol due to the increased activity with the nice weather...

Hey guys heard some of these / most of these. That was a real busy day at over at MTC. Question I heard a call that I did not see up here, I was confused because I never heard it was TAFT. or TAF or something like that but I was pretty sure it was TAFT. Hear it before Nodak?

When did they start using the "Howdy" call-sign?

The earliest I have the MTC A-10's using HOWDY is 01-04-10. It's usually used as a Maintenance check ride call sign.
FALCON 01 was used by the F-16's for the maint check ride when they had the F-16's. Last flight of the Selfridge F-16's was on 01-12-09. They were flown from MTC to Fort Wayne IN, call sign was MACE 91 flight of 3.

Sorry it doesn't sound familiar. Could it have been TAD? I believe it stands for Tactical Air Display.
