:( All I want for christmas is database for bcdx36hp scanners. Where do we beg? Seriously, where can we beg for database?

We are stuck using sentinel because database is not in Proscan. I have Butel for other scanners and really don't care for it. Sentinel is lacking, well there are threads about that...

Proscan 7.1 was released May 27th, 2014 with support for the 536HP (without database). We are on version 11.5 which happens to be the 34th version in 30 months. I would always get excited when I would run Proscan and the screen would pop up notifying me that a new version has been released ! Could this be the database ??? nope ...

ProScan is the most powerful and feature rich scanner software in this world !!!. True , but would even be better with database support for the *36HP scanners.

thanks for any help you can give me.....John

I'm familiar with ProScan. I am familiar with the 436 and the 436 Sentinel software. Tonight, I tried for the first time to connect my 436 with ProScan. ProScan could not find the active port. Went into the Windows Device Manager. Windows shows a port connected to the 436 with the little yellow warning mark. Expanding the port info indicates that the scanner/port needs a driver or a driver update. Windows recommends going to Uniden and getting the proper driver. Just thought I'd touch base here before trying to squeeze a driver out of Uniden, lol. No previous problems with ProScan, the cable, or the 436. Just the first time connecting all three together. Any hint, other than going to Uniden website? Thanks!!!

Additional info: Windows showing the 436 as occupying a serial port. Went back to the436 and selected mass storage. Then Windows does not "see" the 436 at all. Back to active scanning, and Windows goes back to showing the 436 with the warning mode as to the 436 serial port (driver needed).

Rob have you went to BCD436HP < UnidenMan4 < TWiki and loaded the SERIAL DRIVER?
When the 436 is in MASS UPDATE PROSCAN can not see the scanner.
If you are connected to the scanner with SENTINEL only one device at a time can connect to the scanner. Like I have stated to others I run PROSCAN 8 times connected to 8 scanners at the sametime with 7 USB sound cards.

The grey rows indicates the recording are not stored on the hard drive for some reason. Either the files were deleted externally to ProScan or something else like a bug.

Can you provide one of the filenames in a grey row. I want to see if it contains any Windows illegal filename characters but all that is suppose to be filtered out.

Also provide the Custom Recording Folders format and Custom Filename format.

Thank You!!! The driver installation was not exactly as per Uniden's instructions. However, after about a half hour of trial and error, the driver installation was successful! Currently watching the 436 scan in the ProScan screen, and the hits are being logged!

I would type up the sequence that worked for the benefit of others, but there were so many different tries that I have no idea the actual sequence that worked.

Thanks again!!!

12-11-16 09-47-04 - Idaho Cooperative Agencies Wireless Interoperable Network (ICAWI - Schweitzer Peak (Sandpoint) - TGID-28000 TO 09-47-10.mp3 False 28000 771.7312 00:00:06 12/11/16 09:47:04

(Greyed out)

Both the filename format and the folders have not been changed. they are just like the example. This affects all P25 systems I monitor as well.

Bob...

here is the file name:

12-11-16 12-14-23 - Wisconsin Interoperable System for Communications (WISCOM) - Hillsdale - Northwest 7 - Spooner Post.mp3

I did not set these up myself, it was all imported from RR

to the best of my knowledge, they have all worked before....the only thing I am aware of that has changed was a windows update about 3-4 days ago.....also, I thought it was only with the P25 trunking, but this morning it appears it may be doing something in analog too....I have not had a lot time this a.m. because of a dump of snow overnight......John

I just happened to see this....just after 11/26/16 I am guessing I deleted all the recording entries, and I did it again around 12/7/16....this was done from within ProScan....
looking at the files, it appears nothing from 3/26/16 to 11/26/16 was deleted, I disagree however, as I do a lot more recording than what it shows, I think....but thankfully being able to see the old files, until 11/26 it was saving recordings in the ;tower site folder, now since 12/11 (nothing between these dates) it has created a new folder called 'Wisconsin Interoperability System for Communications (WISCON)-(site name)' if it is a bug, it should affect everyone...so maybe windows update did something.....

I hope I am not missing something.....John

In the options tab under recording is a setting on how long to keep recordings I have mine set to not auto delete the recordings by default I think it is 30 days.

The Recordings Auto Delete deletes the grid rows so I don't think that is the problem. I haven't seen this problem before and I'm not sure it's a problem within ProScan at this point. This is something I'll keep a watch on and to see if anyone else has this problem.

as a temporary bandaid, and I only have 4 main tower sites I use for this system, do you think l could go in each day when I start the recording function, and create a site folder for each, like it used to do????

also, mine is set the same as buddrousa.....no auto delete....John

I'll look at this before the next release.

The recording is one of the primary functions that I use and would have noticed it before now. I just checked all 5 scanners I use for trunked systems and all record just fine.

396T - P25
396XT - P25
996T - P25
996XT - P25 (3 different towers on 2 different systems)
436HP - P25 Phase2

Folders:
%D\%S\%G\%FT
Files:
%DT - %S - %G - %C - %U1 -%FT

In his screen shot, I noticed something. The one highlighted is not a P25 system but rather just a P25 conventional freq. like 1Partsman mentioned. He also has "skip silence" checked so maybe they aren't recoding because the level is too low or there isn't any audio. Check the box for "each trans. new row".

I would check the programming to make sure the TGs and freqs are set to the right type of audio. I would also check to make sure there aren't in long file/folder names trying to be created. Check the recording path to make sure the length there isn't an issue as well.

Correct, this is a P25 freq. not a system, as I am still trying to get the rest of the system freqs.

As to the audio levels being to low, I have watched the level and it shows it is recording and can hear the audio.

I have changed the skip silence, and also made the change to each transmission new row for testing to see if that solves the problem.

Attached is the options I have set.
