What I did was change from PCM recording to MP3 recording. No errors or 1 kb files :)

MP3 settings Samples p Second: 11025 and Bitrate: 96.

What I did notice is that recorded files are actually 64 kbps instead of 96 kbps. Am I doing something wrong here? Can someone explain? MTIA.
I did some testing this afternoon and found out that for me, MP3 Samples 8000 and Bitrate 64 give the best result. They sound as good as PCM but are much smaller. Will use these settings next week and will report back.

Running the latest ProScan version 11.5 I have a strange problem using it on my old XP computer.
Streaming a BCD996T works fine if the ProScan window is open. If I reduce the window to the tool bar using - the stream side will turn all the controls except the display gray, thus I can't control the radio remotely but the stream still works.
Even more strange is with the ProScan reduced if I open Davis Weatherlink for my home weather station the gray area where the buttons should be now populates with my weather software display. This only happens with ProScan reduced and Weatherlink open.
My new computer Windows 10 running the same scenario as above except using a BCD536HP does not have this problem. Both browsers are Chrome if that matters. The above problem shows up on a PC, android phone, and IPhone.
Any ideas?

Thanks.
Vince.

That's a Windows limitation. Windows can't paint the virtual scanner for sending to a browser when minimized or the screen saver is activated. I can't do anything about that.

OK. I figured it was a windows problem. Is this specific to XP or all Windows? Windows 10 doesn't have the problem for me.
Thank you for the quick reply. Just purchased this software and want to say it is awesome. I wish I had tried it years ago. The remote control has no lag unlike other software, so much in one package. I look forward to learning all the functions.

I've had a couple of reports of the Virtual Scanner on the browser not rendering correctly when the screensaver on the server side kicked in and when ProScan is minimized(I don't remember what Windows versions). I looked at this issue a couple of times and my google searching determined there wasn't any viable work around. {edit} That's the only issue unable to resolve in ProScan.

I did a quick test just now. Recorder set to 22050, Mono, 96 kbps. WinAmp playback shows recordings are recorded at 22050, Mono, 96 kbps.

436 Virtual Scanner Feature

While playing with the ProScan Virtual Scanner (436), I was startled when the System Analysis screen showed Zero Signal Strength, Zero Quality, and Zero Activity. I thought something happened to my antenna. Then I looked up at the scanner, and it was showing the GREAT numbers I am used to seeing. I know ProScan is not fully functional for the *36 pair, but the "placeholders" for the three analysis graphs are clearly visible. The graphs are simply not transferring from the scanner. I searched the ProScan Thread for a statement about this *36 feature but came up empty.

Thanks for the continuing development of your fine software!

Did this ever work in ProScan? I'm not sure this was tested before. I'll look at this next. What is the system type?

Don't know if it ever worked, this was my first try and with the 436. Two systems: Motorola Type II SmartZone and Project 25 Phase I.

Correction to post #2469: The Activity graph is transferring. The activity was so low it looked like zero. After switching to the P-25 I TRS the activity picked up and is transferring. Just the Strength and the Quality graphs are dead.

Can scanner audio be streamed with ProScan into a WordPress blog? I'm setting up a blog and if it could be done I'd like to provide audio to select blog followers through the blog.

rwier,
This is fixed. The signal bars weren't displaying properly for the Analyze System Status and RF Power Plot, and Close Call. Email me for the latest file for the fix if you want.

I have a question regarding dmr using proscan. I'm running dsd plus and I have all the frequencies in the dsd file twice. Do I need to do the same in the proscan software? First time programming a dmr system into an actual Uniden 996p2 scanner. Any tricks, tips is much appreciated!

Here is the site I'm monitoring site 007 and the Lasalle county TG

I don't know why the frequencies twice. That would be more of a scanner or system question versus a ProScan question so perhaps someone that knows would chime in.

{edit} I don't enter the DMR frequencies twice.

Okay thanks!

I believe because it could be the voice channel and the control channel

That sounds more like a dsd plus problem. I just wanted to clarify that so no one thinks the DMR frequencies needs to be entered twice in ProScan or the scanner.
