With a model like the 996P2, that assumes we're using the Line Out, not Ext Spkr, so the volume knob wouldn't affect the fixed line level output. :)

It work that way now. I think I will leave things just the way they are and focus on other areas in ProScan.

{edit} I really don't know what you are getting at. I'm starting to feel that this is more complicated than needed to be so let's end the discussion and I want to work on another area in ProScan.

Um, okay?

I was responding to the below quoted post, and offering a suggestion for an option that gives two options for the Mute button on a 536 related to WiFi. Either to have it mute all as it currently does, or have it only set the volume to 0 so we can still use recording and RSOIP.

Wasn't intent on upsetting you or getting blown off for offering a suggestion after you requested one.

To answer your question in the Subject line "Does the mute button also mute WiFi audio?"
Yes. The Mute / Speaker icon button mutes the Wi-Fi audio and sets the scanner volume level to 0.

When the Mute button was added, I had a few complaints on the characteristics and worked with a few people on the characteristics and haven't had any complaints since then. So don't really want to change that but I am open to suggestions such as adding an option for different characteristics.

Sorry about that. I'm really receptive to suggestions. I always advise to keep it simple and clear. I want to help in this but not sure what can be done. What exactly are you requesting?

I know you want the characteristics of the Mute changed with an option but I don't know what can be done to the 996P2? Currently ProScan turns the Volume control fully CCW.

{edit} Nevermind. I see what you are requesting on the 536. I'm not sure why you were bringing up the 996P2. That was confusing me.

My apologies, I muddied the waters a bit. I brought up the 996P2 Line Out in an attempt to ask if the behavior of the Mute button on a 536 over WiFi could be made to emulate that behavior.

In other words, can Mute on a 536 over WiFi turn the Volume control fully CCW while still allowing audio to pass to the recorder and RSOIP?

That was what I was poorly attempting to get at, and I believe also what n5ypj was inquiring about.

Merry Christmas, and thank you for your patience and understanding! :)

I am running PROSCAN 8 times on the same PC multiple sound cards and I mute at the PC anyone of the 8 scanners by muting the speaker out without affecting the recording as it is just as easy to mute the speaker outs. Each sound card is linked to the master sound card so I have 8 scanners all sharing 2 speakers with no issues after getting all the levels set.

Would an option like this work?

536 Audio Mute Characteristics
Ext. SP. & Wi-Fi
Ext. SP.
Wi-Fi

Merry Christmas to you.

{edit}
Maybe instead of using the term "Ext. SP." use "Vol" or just "Speaker" may be better.

Question on remote over IP does this mean you can listen to your scanner on your local network? I have the scanner 996p2 hooked up to the ext spk to the recording input to the computer i see audio playing in the audio control tab. Than i start the sever and it runs but how do i listen IP address to port 5000 in a web browser?

Yes. The server. That's the Web Server you have setup, correct. Can the Web Browser see the server . You should get a web page? Click one of the audio links in the upper left corner and you should hear the audio. I don't know without enough info if you are setup on the server side. Do you see the audio level meter move in the Audio Control -> Web Server tab?

BCDx36HP Favorites Editor

The ProScan BCDx36HP Favorites Editor is under development. Anyone using my software knows that I put my heart into it and put as many features imaginable. The new ProScan Favorites Editor will be similar. Stay Tune!

I can't take any suggestions until this is done unless it's related to the new Favorites Editor.

Editor.

That's great! I'm a new user and am very satisfied. Your support is the best I've experienced. The web server is awesome so I'm sure the editor will be as well.

Thanks.
Vince.
