Hi Bob, I have the same problem with my BCD996P2. I can remove 1 duplicate using the "find next same" and the program will crash, you loose all your work and need to start over. I found if you get frequencies in order as to have 453.1000 x 4 lined up you can manually remove them by just using the "find next" and continue. It seems to crash more if it jumps between a few different systems.
Thanks for all your hark work!!

Similar issues - same radio. I just do not have enough "how" to correctly ID.

Windows 10 Audio Help

My old laptop that I had been using for my scanners with proscan died and I'm using a new one with windows 10 now. Old one had windows vista. I'm having problems getting the audio to record on the new laptop. Can't seem to figure out how to get it to record the line audio. The 1\8" jack is for mic/line in. Can't seem to get the settings figured out. It sounds like the mic is recording the audio and not the line jack. Anyone know how to configure the setting correctly?? Thanks

Go to the Windows Mixer Recording. Make sure the Mic is disabled and the Line In is set to Default Device. The Line In level meter should show audio. In ProScan, check the Audio Control -> Recorder tab that the Input Sound Device is set to Primary Sound Capture Device.

Still playing around with getting everything set up on my new laptop. I lost everything on my old computer. How do I get that license reset so I can activate it on my new one? Thanks

Back to this problem. The laptop is a HP with windows 10 and on the side of the case there is a headphone/mic jack. Its one of the 3.5mm jacks. Doing some searching on HP forums I found some info about the headset/mic combo needs to have a 4-pin jack on it for both to work. What I was running on my old laptop that got fried was a setup that you had recommended to me. That was an older Toshiba laptop that had a separate headphone and input jack on it. I was running two radios and being able to record the audio from both by splitting the jack and one radio was the right side audio and one radio was the left side audio. Is there any way to run that same setup with this new computer?? Can I adapter that 4-pin plug to see my cable that's plugged in? Or am I out of luck with this computer?? I just bought this for the purpose of recording audio and controlling my radios with proscan. Thanks for any info and help.

What about something like this -

Has anyone had any luck doing this?? Thanks

I don't think you need that unless you are connecting a headphone.

Did you try to plug the cable into the jack. In the Windows Mixer, does the mic input show disabled or enabled?
Mic input doesnt show up. I dont think it is connecting because the reading i have doing on that style jack it says you need a 4 pin connector on your cable. I dont think it is letting the jack know that a mic or line cable is plugged in.

Can you right click another device that does show up and select "Show Disabled Devices"

All devices are shown. From what i had read on HP forums it looks like you have to have a 4 pin 1/8" cable to be able to use that jack. Its a combo headphones/mic input jack. It probably isnt seeing my cable plugged in because it is only a 3 pin cable. I guess im the only one trying to do this on a newer style laptop with only a single input.

Similar problem as I had before.
Went to bed, everything running proper.

Feed online.
536, scanning.
All is good.

Get up in the morning.

Feed online.
536, Scanning
Proscan shows it is locked on one channel, even though scanner is still actively scanning channels.
IP did not change.
On 536 I goto Wifi setup and show information to check. nothing changed.
Proscan, goto URL setup on source. Shows disconnected, Reconnect without changing anything. Bang back up and receiving and connected.

Ideas?

A very long shot but is the 536 connected by USB to a PC that hibernates or powers down any? My ProScan - 536 set up was messing up when my monitor would sleep. Unplugged the USB cable and only use it when needed problem solved. YMMV. :) 73

It sounds like the same problem with the 996P2 with the computer reboots. The way to prevent this from happening again is to use the rear serial port.

Are you using Wi-Fi or the front panel connector for the data connection?
If using Wi-Fi then when you click the URL Setup button, Do you see a "UDP Not Connected" message"?
What do you mean by "Feed online". Streaming to Broadcastify?

I'm using Wifi.
UDP showed Not Connected (When I got up, but was connected when I went to bed )
It was still streaming to Broadcastify per the software. I didn't check to see if Broadcastify was showing it online, but I did not receive and email that my feed was offline so I will assume it was showing online.

I tried using the USB serial port connection before, via the front port but have found wifi to be more stable for my computer. I can try the rear port to see if that helps.

And like most problems it is intementant. It could run for days and never have any problems.

Thank you Bob, for all that you do. Like always A+++++ service.

I have had the same problem and asked Bob about it but he couldn't understand the problem. I continue to have the problem but figured out a work around. After I delete the entry I hit previous then next then delete, then previous then next then delete, over and over again.

I asked for a periodic Save of the database for when the program crashes, Bob said he didn't want to do that after thinking about it.
