ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

I use Uniden scanners about 5years. I tried a lot of other scanning programs, but stopped on ProScan. I can say with confidence that ProScan v. 4.3.0 - the best scanning software around the world! Thank you Bob!

Question: If you set the recording grid to delete every x days does that also delete the recordings .mp3 files. I'm not sure if it's just my machine but having all that data in the recording grid seems to slow down proscan and I would like to have it delete the grid but not the files itself.

Also say i set it for every 1 day, what time during the day does it delete?

Yes. When the rows are deleted, the files are deleted too. A check is made each hour to deterime if a recording is older then x days based on the last write to the file (End Date / Time) and should be deleted.

Suggestions and request should be emailed to me so I can see them easier and send out preview files.

Proscan is Great

Hi all,

Proscan is great, I already bought it ! I was using version 4.2 , no problems. I did find a problem with a fresh load of 4.3 on windows XP, latest service packs. I noticed that the audio recording timer no longer works. The log timer seems to work just fine. Also, the audio in menu no longer allows me to select the left or right ( I need this to record from different scanners without unplugging) . It only allows either stereo or mono.

The duration of the recordings not updating bug in 4.3.0 is fixed. No date on the next release yet but I anticipate it will be out middle of March.

On the recorder audio; The left and right channel mode is not needed as selecting mono and turning down the unused channel has the same effect.

Sound issue

Thanks for the quick response ! For me , that feature (select left or right) does not have the same effect as picking mono. I like to use 2 session at times and need to be able to pick left for one session and right for another session. I have not tried turning down the volume but wouldn't that cross cancel and then neither session would record? Am I missing something here?

The audio controls in ProScan are NOT Windows mixer controls and will not effect the other instances.

The left and right volume controls effect the volume of that instance only.

The Windows Mixer will effect all instances

I'm not sure if it is me or not, but I'll throw this out there. I'm running the latest version, 4.3, I checked off the log to file box, checked the notepad log file and found the log is not copying the UID's, I reverted back to VER 4.2 and now the UID's are showing up in the Notepad file. Am I missing something in the 4.3 version? Or is this a glitch?

Com Port Issues

I emailed Bob - but wanted to get some feedback here also .....Seems to be a common link I'm having here ...

I have had this happen on 2 machines now - so I am wondering if its a glitch I havent heard of .....

I am running Pro Scan 4.3 on a Windows XP machine. I have it connected via the Serial Cable - with a USB Converter. Drivers Installed fine - everything worked Great .....Had it running flawless for 2 weeks ....then one morning at 6:30 AM the Pro Scan data connection just stopped - computer didnt reboot ...no other change. I have not been able to restore the data connection. I have tried a new cable - no help - I tried a whole different install of Pro Scan - and a Second Radio / Cable at same time - still no Communication between Scanner and PC .....i HAVE REBOOTED - ASSIGNED A DIFFERENT COMM PORT MANUALLY - not sure what else to try ...

Now - I have another Install - different location - running XP - 2 Pro Scan running - 2 seperate feeds. One is a 996xt - the other is a 396T .....both running flawlessly for almost 2 months ...I am connected remotely 24/7 with no hiccups - the machine is for Feeds Only - No gaming, no other use ....was never touched .......Today at 1:30 PM the data connection dropped - now I can only connect 1 Scanner - 2nd one wont connect ...Comm Port 4 was the one that quit - after a reboot I connect to Comm Port 4 - but now cant connect to comm port 1 .....I upgraded them both to 4.3 (was running 3.1) ....Still same ....I am pushing audio through scannercast - but No Data coonection will work .....the 996xt reconnected as soon as I opened Pro Scan - the 2nd instance didnt open at all ...

So - now I think it is a software issue .....any ideas would be appreciated ......

Thanks for the feedback. This version should be the most stable ever but with the complexities of software, anything can crop up.
