ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

I emailed this as well. I currently push out the RID's on my feed and I thought it would be cool to be able to name them too.

Top is a Radio ID I entered and it shows up on the scanner display as 2OPS07 Dispatch but does not get sent in the Metadata to my stream. But the buttom which is a radio ID the scanner is picking up does get sent along because I guess Proscan sees the UID:i1313 UID:i gets removed if you put names to radio ID’s.

Anyway to make this work? Even if I had to put a – or something in front of the names of the radios so it gets picked up.

It's kind of complicated but I will try to keep it simple and clear. These options are for the the logging and recording grids. It's for those that have the option "Each Transmission New Row" turned off. This option will look-up existing entries with new transmissions based on frequency and if a match is found then will update the existing entry.

Now on tones. Tones can be problematic to logging and recordings as the tone data may arrive late(after the beginning of the transmission) to the software depending on the way the scanner is setup. When the scanner is in scan mode and the tones set at the channel level then the tone data will arrive instantly. When the scanner is searching for tones, then they will arrive late. For those that want the frequency AND TONE data to match existing entries then the option "Use Tone For Matching And Hits" is turned on. The scanner needs to be in scan mode and the tones set at the channel level so the tone data will arrive instantly.

The Hits column in the logging will increment based on frequency. If the user want to increment based on frequency AND TONE then "Use Tone For Matching And Hits" should be turned on. The scanner needs to be in scan mode and the tones set at the channel level so the tone data will arrive instantly.

Proscan 4.48

I am using the latest version of Proscan on an XP Pro machine connected to a Bearcat 780xlt.

I have tried the new option under "Broadcast lockout" and entered in a frequency, but it still seems to broadcast the frequencys on my Radiorefernce stream.

For example if I would like to lockout 156.8000

I tried entering 156.8000 #
and also # 156.8000

but it still broadcasts the frequency.

Am I missing something or doing something incorrect?

I reported the same issue, then it occured to me. The way the information is writen in the notepad file is confusing. "Anything following the # sign is ignored". Yes....Ignored completly. As though it were a comment line. Just enter the frequencies you want not to be broadcast WITHOUT the # sign and it works perfectly.

Here's my file:

Good point. I try to make it less confusing as possible.
Do you have any suggestion on how it can be re-written?

I always assumed if it was put into place the no broadcast would be a checkbox the same as a record flag. Check the boxes you would either broadcast or not broadcast.

Seriously? I could see the complaints poring in. The broadcast lockout should not be dependent on a database open or closed and not the record flag. More versatility and less confusing. Clicking the Broadcast L/O button brings up the file. The file contents are in memory regardless of if the file was modified. I've seen database files with thousands of channels. Can you imagine searching thousands of rows every 200 milliseconds. There would be performance issues i'm sure.

I want to continue to have my recording filenames to include unit IDs. I have used it in the past, is it possible it was removed in the last two versions? My Custom Filename Format is %DT - %FT - %U although I have tried several other ways. If I use just %U, the filename is

Recorder on after upgrade

Not sure if this happened to anyone else, but FYI, the recorder was toggled on after upgrading to 4.8, and I had to go in and turn it off manually. Noticed it on both scanner setups, so might be worth taking a look at.
