ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Not sure if this happened to anyone else, but FYI, the recorder was toggled on after upgrading to 4.8, and I had to go in and turn it off manually. Noticed it on both scanner setups, so might be worth taking a look at.

Unable to duplicate problem here. Installed in a new folder and an existing folder. Recorder off in both cases.

Hi Bob:

Any chance you can provide a brief tutorial on how to use the new Google Maps feature. I see your screen shots on the web site, but I think it would be helpful for many if you gave a few tips on how to configure that and what the data means etc.

Like many others here, I personally believe that Proscan is the single best all-in-one scanner software on the market. Well worth the price for my 2 licenses! Throwing Radio Feed in for free ain't bad either :)

I noticed that if they were on when I did the update, they were on when I re-started the new version. Did not update any with the recorder off.

Did you get a chance to try it? It should be user friendly. I'll work on a guild in the next few weeks time permitting. Here a real quick guide in a nutshell.

Accessing Google maps is done from the Tools menu or the database systems section if the scanner supports locations(BCD996XT, BCD396XT, BCT15X, BC346XT, BCD996T, and BCT15).

There are two mapping modes.
Single Location:
1. Type in a address and click "Get Lat/Lng" From Address.
2. Set the options(if needed).
3). Click the "Map Lat/Lng" button.

Database Locations:
1. Set the options(if needed).
2). Click the "Map Systems" button.
Note: A database needs to be opened first.

Accessing Google Maps from the database will show a button to copy the Lat/Lng back to the database system, site, or group.

The options should be self explanatory. The options will show in the map the next time the map redrawn.

Recording question in ProScan

I have updated to v4.8 and have noticed a couple of issues with the recording function.

1. I have record from database look up checked, but it records everything.

2. It is not appending the file, it over writes the file for every transmission.

I have attached a copy of my recording options.

I am sure it must be something simple, but I am not seeing it.

Thanks,

This one was fixed yesterday. I should get around to sending out test files this Thursday.

The mapping feature is great - I have used it to do some fine tuning of all of the system sites for Colorado and surrounding States.

I did notice one issue, but it may just be restricted to my database on the 996T. One system in particular gives me two seperate script errors when I go to look at the sites I have programmed for that system, on Google Maps. The other 119 display fine. I sifted through that one for any errors (it matches other systems programmed in that display their sites), and found none. I also restarted the software and rebooted the computer to no avail. Running W7Pro-32 and IE8.
Thoughts?

Would you email me the following so I can find out what's going on.
1. Database file.
2. JavaScript text. To get that: Click the "View JavaScript" button after the error is duplicated.
3. Web Browser type (if not using the built in browser).
4. Error message.

Sorry if this is a repeat questions but I made it up to page 10 of this thread and did a search and did not find any straight out answer.

By the look of the screen shots it looks like you can control mult scanners at one time.Is that true? Do I need more then one license? I have 2 BC780xlt BCT15, and BCD996XT. I am looking to have all the scanners running at one time on the screen(like what i see in the screen shots). Is that possible and how is it don't.

Thanks for your help

All you need to do is open multiple instances of the program. The license is per computer so it will run multiple times while controlling separate devices on one machine.

Each license allows activations on two computers after the 30 day trial expired. The 30 day trial is 100% functional.

If all the scanners are on one computer and you want to control from another, then only one license is sufficient.

If you want to control from more then one computer or the scanners are on more then one computer, then another license is needed.

If all the scanners are on one computer and you want to control from another, then only one license is sufficient.

If all the scanners are on the same PC, install ProScan then make a copy of the install folder for each scanner. I leave the original then copy it for each and append the folder name for each. I then add a shortcut on the desktop for each EXE and append the name for each. I also copy each shortcut to the startup and set autologin in the registery so when the pc is rebooted, all ProScan instances load.

If there is an update, I update the original install then copy all new files to the other folder copies.

Was this fix? I use the recording a lot and don't want something to break.
