ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

I am have a little trouble with in getting the proscan web server background color switch between dark & light using the @media css tag in the style1.css file.
That is more of a html question then ProScan. You may want to do a online search "@media rule not working". I just did. I got it working by using the code below from one of the answers in https://stackoverflow.com/questions...3-media-queries-not-working-on-mobile-devices

Put this in the Web_Server_User_HTML.htm file
Code:
<head>
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
</head>

The css file for testing
Code:
#innerbody {
    font-family:Arial,Verdana,Helvetica,'Trebuchet MS',Sans-Serif;
    font-size:100%;
    background:#ECECEC;
    margin:0 auto;
    text-align:center;
    padding:10px;
    width:800px;
    position:relative;
}
@media(max-width:600px) {
  #innerbody{
     background:red;
   }
}

You probably know this already but I can't really support html, css, javascript, etc as that's not really in the scope of ProScan support other then advise of the availability of the "Web_Server_User_HTML.htm" file for any custom coding.

At the top of the page on style 1. CSS are the elements to alter.

#body {
background:#424949;
margin:0 auto;
text-align:center;

}

#innerbody {
font-family:Arial,Verdana,Helvetica,'Trebuchet MS',Sans-Serif;
font-size:100%;
background:#424949;
margin:0 auto;
text-align:center;
padding:10px;
width:800px;
position:relative;

Change the color #424949 to what ever you want.
The page is completely customizable.
This is my current page...

Running 18.2.0, will run for about 45 min. then crash, while it is working all functions normally any help would be great. Windows 10 is use.
Revert back to 18.1 and see if it does the same thing.

{edit} If sounds like you reported this type of problem before in post 6342 and you refused to help fix the bug if any, 2 times in post 6345 and 6348. I'll wait for some else experiencing a lockup bug to email me so I can send him test files until fixed.

It looks post 6339 and not 6342. I think the forum software renumbered the post#

So 18.1 crashed. What was the last version that was stable? Did you use 18.1 before and that was stable? Perhaps check the Win Update history and see if a graphics driver was updated.
I think the problem comes from a windows 10 update. I have a new laptop coming with 11 installed soon so I will just live with the problem till then.
I had nothing but problems with win 10 updates. Went back to windows 8.1 (older laptop) , and its stable as a rock.

I did find a recent issue with one of the windows updates. I'm not sure why, but windows is trying to lock things down a bit. Make sure each version/install is added as an exception to your windows firewall AND under the properties of proscan.exe, compatibility, run as administrator should be checked. This fixed all intermittent issues I was having at the time with connections and/or crashes.

Currently on 18.2, Windows 10 Pro 21H2 (9/1/2021) build 19044.1415

Sounds like win 11 has been working
Win 10 works great for I would say 99.99% of the users based on the reports and data I've seen. Win 11 works great too so far. The only issue I've seen with Win 11 is the USB to Serial converters using the Prolific chipset showing "Please install corresponding PL2303 driver to support Windows 11 and future OS." on driver date 9/26/2021 and version 3.8.40.0

I have been using ProScan and a BCT15X to host my local scanner feed to Broadcastify. My PC crapped the bed so I need to upgrade the PC. I would like to get a smaller compact PC as the scanner feed is really all I use the PC for. I would also like to clean up my wiring. Sooo... A few questions.

1) The front port on the scanner, which goes to a serial cable, is shot. Because the wire comes out of the front, it has been bumped many times and now the cable comes loose frequently. Is there a way to use the rear port instead to communicate with my ProScan software? I tried before, but could never make it work.

2) Is there/what is the proper cable to use. As I mentioned before, I currently use the cable with the small Uniden connection on one end and a Serial cable on the other. Is there a USB 3.0 cable available?

3) Is there a video that assists with setting up for a Broadcasitfy feed? I have always struggled with getting levels set correctly. I have listened to feeds from all over and some have very loud hums in the background. I have struggled to get my volume to sound clear without over modulating them. I feel like this should beeasier than I am finding and I figured I was just dumb... Any help here?

*Sorry to hijack this thread, apparently I do not have adequate permissions to start a new thread and this was the best place I could find to ask my questions.

Thanks in advance.

Can't help you with #3, but for #1 and #2, there are a number of options. Here's one that is the correct gender and includes a null modem, which is needed to use the back RS232 port. I use one of these to connect a BCT15X to my PC. The only caveat is that it won't work for firmware upgrades, which *must* use the front serial port.

It's *not* USB 3.0, but the data transfer speed isn't that high, even when uploading/downloading programming.

You may want to do a YouTube search and see what you find. Doing a search for 'ProScan Broadcastify setup' may not cover the audio levels setup as that is a little different.

In ProScan, set the Right or Left channel on the used input to 100% and the unused input to 0%
In the Win Mixer, If using the mic input then set the mic level to about 20%.
What I do is tune the scanner to a frequency with constant audio such as Weather. Then I adjust the scanner audio to the point where clipping or saturation occurs then back off a bit. Others may do it differently.
On the hum issue, Most likely it's caused by a ground loop which can be fixed with a ground loop Isolator also called an audio isolation transformer.[/QUOTE]
