Added - Shortcuts for commonly used scanner menu operations. It's located in the Scanner Control box.
-
The new menu shortcuts feature in the scanner control box is a fantastic addition, there are many possibilities for it's use.

For the SDS scanners, I'm finding it to be an invaluable tool for experimenting with filter settings when trying to determine which filter is best for a particular situation. Instead of manually drilling down through all the steps in the scanner's menu system every time to change a filter type, a shortcut can be set for each filter to change the setting on the fly. By using the shortcut hot-key (or even easier - just double click on it), the shortcut will go into the menu system, drill down to the filters, change to whatever filter the shortcut is set for, exit the menu system and return to scanning in a couple of seconds. Shortcuts can be set to change filters globally, or for individual systems or searches. A very fast and efficient way to make comparisons on filter effects.

Just a couple of other handy uses... a single shortcut can be set for multiple menu selections (at the same menu level) e.g., you can set one shortcut to turn on/off multiple favorites lists at once, or set multiple service types to on/off at once.

Once again, kudos to Bob for continuing to add awesome features to a great program!

Is there any way to include an audio mix feature? Have an additional audio input (microphone in) source and mix both audio sources for output through the server? My interest is for additional recording (server output folders) of audio quality for HAM, CB or any additional scanner not currently covered by ProScan?
Great software!

I think Bob @ProScan has a vox recording software in the works, but very, very alpha.

GitHub - BobAProScan/VOX-Recorder: VOX Recorder is an application specifically designed for the Broadcastify Calls platform. Connect a receiver tuned to a specific conventional frequency.

Just feed 1 audio source in on the left channel and the other audio source in on the right channel. You may have to be creative with the cabling.

Forgive me if I missed it in the documentation, but is there a way to set a "return to scan" type shortcut? I am using an SDS200 and it'd be nice to be able to go back to scanning after using a shortcut

Yes, use the "Menu Out" command at the end of your shortcut sequence.

This is one of the examples shown in the "edit shortcuts" txt file...

Special Menu command "Menu Out" for the menu sequence that stays in menu. See the Close Call examples.

Close Call Off, Alt+3, Menu {Close Call, Set CC Mode, Off, Menu Out}

For reasons unknown I get this error upon startup or when I try to manually update from the help menu. I am able to download directly from the website, just not sure what the glitch is in my computer causing this. Thanks for any advice.

Do you have antivirus or 'security' software blocking the network/Internet connection of the software, maybe? Third party 'security' software sometimes had strict default settings. You may have to whitelist the app.

Good question. I don't have any third party antivirus security related software. Proscan is running on a desktop PC with Windows 7 which for the most part has not changed for a bunch of years.

I've only just got onto the hotkeys and only just getting my head around them. Is there any way to set a Number Tag Tune as a hotkey?

I think that's because the TLS 1.2 protocol isn't enabled by default on Win 7 machines. It can be turned on in the settings or just leave it as is and download directly from the proscan.org we site. I'm not sure why the browsers work.

Thanks so much for the speedy reply. BTW, all the recent updates are amazing!

I've spent the past couple of hours looking around at it on my laptop. I must have installed the trial version on my desktop before because I get a message telling me that the trial period has ended.

I think the only real difference will be related to how much screen real estate I have.

It has a lot of nice features, one of which is that it works with a lot of scanners.

I think I have said this before but everyday is Black Friday with ProScan. You get a lot for the money.
