OK, yeah I overlooked that. Found it now. That file has lots of data in it so it seems to be communicating with the scanner.
Search for the conv. frequency to see if the scanner sent it.
If it was sent then copy & paste here the block of data (only the frequency in question) starting with MDL and ending with </ScannerInfo>

It's there. I added another department's frequency, that is also on NXDN, to the 'department' I had created for this search and I've had several brief hits in the last few minutes. May be just data bursts and not actually people talking (duration all shows 0 seconds but I hear the NXDN noise once every minute if I turn the volume up). Maybe it doesn't function the way I thought it would. I was hoping to determine the RAN and/or TG that they're using. Weird. Maybe it's just me not understanding how it is designed to work (either the scanner or the software).

Is the option "Delete < 2 Seconds History Log Entries From Grid" box unchecked? Option located in the Options - Logging tab.

It is unchecked, yes. The hits are showing up in the history log...just no tone or anything is showing as decoded. So I'm getting this so far:

To follow-up: Just now one of these departments was paged out. I see the scanner stopping on their frequency because they're communicating but the tone and/or talk group ID columns remain blank. So...I guess ProScan doesn't decode that then? I was thinking that was part of the point of history logging...? Maybe I need another method. Very likely a me problem.

Like I asked in #7,882
Can you search again in the Scanner Data.txt file for the frequency then copy & paste the block of data (only the frequency in question) here starting with MDL and ending with </ScannerInfo>

{edit} Conv. systems don't contain TGID's

No tone from the scanner. The SAD element contains the tone.

OK so it's a programming issue on the scanner. I switch it back to digital search like I had it before.

Sorry, me again. This time about Fire Tone out Logging. What's the trick? I have it monitoring but I'm getting no hits in the log. Is it not just listening to the audio and decoding the tones? I know it can hear the audio as the recording function is working fine in ProScan. Using a 996XT this time.

Do you have FTO logging active in the ProScan options?

Do you see the Tones A & B on the screen?
Can you copy and paste the Scanner Data.txt file with the active FTO so I can see if the Tones A & B shows up.

As I mentioned earlier, under the Recorder tab I get recordings just fine so I know the computer and software is 'hearing' the scanner. Should it be decoding the Tone A and Tone B? That tab stays blank, as shown.

I don’t believe this is a copy section of ScannerData.txt file, as @ProScan requested.

That's what I need. No tones in the data. The screenshot is a big help. Doesn't the scanner need to be in FTO standby?
{EDIT} I think you're scanning 154.0250 and that won't log to the FTO grid. The scanner needs to be in FTO Standby.
FTO Tones A & B are different then CTCSS tones.
