I've been having an issue since the latest update where my SDS-200 will be connected and working fine then suddenly the display on proscan goes blank and audio drops out also. This is my first time really using the recorder feature for a long time (course of several hours at a time), so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it. Any ideas? It's been working flawlessly for over a year otherwise.
Are you using the LAN for audio and the serial comm. data? The 1st thing I would do is power cycle the scanner. You can revert back to ver. 19.9 and see what happens. Link below. If the problem clears then check your antivirus / Internet security software. An exemption may be needed. If the problem still exist then check your Ethernet cables. Ensure not running AVG anti-virus software as that is known to interrupt the TCP packets. I haven't heard of the ProScan recorder interfering with the communications to the scanner.

I'm using "URL" for these instead of Comm Port. I just use windows security for anti virus, but maybe there's an issue there. Today it's connected and then it drops out for a few seconds and comes back. It could be an issue with my Vonets adapter as well-that wouldn't surprise me

How about a shortcut to use the favorites editor only, like a stand alone app, added to the desktop at install ?
Already a shortcut key for the Favorites Editor. Alt+F To see all the shortcut keys for the menu, tap the Alt key and see the underlined letters.
Negative on a standalone Favorites Editor app.

I turned off the windows setting to assign random hardware addresses for security purposes. It seems more stable now, not sure if that's a coincidence or not. Perhaps we had an internet issue also. I'll watch it for a few days.

I wasn't familiar with the random hardware addresses setting. I looked it up. So that's for WiFi. The SDS200 doesn't use WiFi. Is your computer connected to the router via WiFi? If so then you may also want to investigate WiFi interference.

I have it hooked up with one of those Vonets wifi adapters. It's working great today so maybe it's all just a coincidence. Not quite sure, but I appreciate the replies

Using ProScan with the RRDB for first time. When uploading to scanner getting this message,
System Massachusetts St Contains 21 Channel Groups Exceeded The Limit Of 20
System Rhode Island Sta Contains 48 Channel Groups Exceeded The Limit Of 20
What would the fix be this error message.

That is the limits of the 996P2 - either break into smaller systems, shave down the number of channel groups.

Or buy a SDS200 or BCD536 - no limits on those.

I have a quick question about the history logging. I am letting my SDS100 sit on a very active P25 trunked system with several sites.

The system type is always displayed as "P25 Trunk".

Can someone explain the "Digital Status" column ? In particular, what's the difference between "P25" and "Link" ?

Thanks !

Per the Easier to Read SDS100/200 Digital Scanner Manual
P25 appears if the channel is receiving digitalized voice in Receive/Hold Modes
P2 appears if the channel is receiving Phase II along with Slot #.
PRV appears if the channel is receiving ProVoice.
DMR appears if the channel is receiving DMR Tier I/II, an FDMA transmission, which usually is a repeater output (2).
DMRs appears if the channel is a TDMA DMR transmission, which always is either the input to a repeater or a simplex frequency (2).
CAP appears if the channel is receiving a Capacity+ system.
CON appears if the channel is receiving a Connection+ system.
DT3 appears if the channel is a Tier III control channel.
S1/S2 appears to show DMR slot assignment.
NX4 appears if the channel is receiving a 4800 NexEdge system.
NX9 appears if the channel is receiving a 9600 NexEdge system.
ND4 appears if the channel is receiving NXDN 4800 Direct Frequency Assignment.
ND9 appears if the channel is receiving NXDN 9600 Direct Frequency Assignment.
NXD appears if the channel is receiving unknown NXDN.
IDS appears if the channel is receiving an IDAS system.
XPT appears if the channel is receiving a Hytera system.
LNK appears when data is received on a voice channel in Receive/Hold Modes.
DAT appears when data is received on a control channel in Receive/Hold Modes.
ENC appears if the channel is receiving encrypted voice and is muted in Receive/Hold Modes.

Thanks for the very fast reply (& terrific software!).

Your reply generates another question: should I see ENC in the digital status column ? The system I am monitoring does have several encrypted channels (I am in ID search mode) but I don't see them in the history list. Although, I am not sure if the radio is stopping on these, so this may be a radio issue.

If you don't see it in the history log then the scanner is not sending it.

The control window is a nice idea, but on my 996xx devices, will neither display anything, or go away. Just a grey box of nothing, which does not respond to any input. You can see the 536 does work just as expected. Complete uninstall/reinstall did not cure my ill

Edit: Yes I have rebooted, sacrificed a goat, waved a rubber chicken in the air, and all the usual Windows troubleshooting ;)

What Windows version running? I can't duplicate that. I'll keep a watch on this.
