Being that I have a super cool wife, my SDS200 spends most of its time in the living room. As nice as the Vonet is, I really need to get a network wire into that room. My basement is under so I am looking for a wall plate that has both LAN and plus / minus wire hook up to run to the shop to be able to connect a car battery in the event of a power outage. Network switch is down there too.

Not sure if I should start a new thrtead but proscan seems to disconnect from the scanner about every 3 days. Its running but doesn't see the scanner. Have to restart the scanner to get it logging again. Win 10 system.
Did this problem just start? I'm assuming you're using the SDS200 LAN. It seems that if the scanner LAN loses the Ethernet signal for more than 60 seconds, then the scanner does require a power cycle to recover. I would check your Ethernet cables, swap ports on the router, & ensure you're not running AVG antivirus as that will interrupt the TCP traffic.

Just started a couple weeks ago. Am using LAN. I have fiber optic so know it’s not that. Don’t use antivirus besides windows defender. Will check my Ethernet cables just to make sure though. Thanks.

The RRDB Check For Changes feature is coming along very nicely.
I see a few benefits in using this tool such as:
1. This will show duplicate conv. frequencies, TGIDs, and trunking frequencies in the RRDB and I've seen many. Image 1 shows duplicates
Here's how the channels are compared to determine duplicates.
Conv Freq - Freq & Tone (CTCSS, DCS, NAC, Color Code, RAN/Area)
Trunk Freq
EDACS, LTR - Freq & LCN
MotoTRBO - Freq & LCN & Color Code
NXDN - Freq & LCN & RAN/Area
DMR One Freq - Freq & Color Code
NXDN One Freq - Freq & RAN/Area
TGID
DMR One Freq. - TGID & TDMA Slot

2. Sometimes a frequency or TGID may be rejected by the scanner because the frequency is out of band or the TGID is out of range. In that case the frequency or TGID will show all zeros.
3. Sometimes a frequency will be altered by the scanner. I'm guessing because it's not on a step and the scanner will round it to the nearest step. Image 2 shows that.

I am posting this so that it may help others. I was running Proscan on my Dell desktop computer as the server for the SDS200. All was well with using my laptop as a client device. Last week I lost the audio feed. The data feed was still functioning. Long story made short, after trying everything under the sun with the entire network configuration of the EdgeRouter 4 and EdgeSwitch, including bypassing the switch completely, I still could not get the audio back.

Running out of options I decided to reverse the roles, make the Win 11 laptop the server and the Win 10 desktop the client. Instant connection after doing that. The best idea I could come up with is something in a recent Windows update must have broke the audio feed.

Just something for others to keep an eye out for.

I had problems w/ Win10 last year. I finally upgraded. Because a Win10 Update probably did the same thing. (y)

I don't think it was a Win 10 update that would have caused that. It was probable more in line with a antivirus program needed an exemption added. A Win 10 update may change the microphone privacy setting so that has to be changed if using the microphone, but that's not the case here.

After a Win10 Update, I could no longer do video, only audio, for ZOOM. That was until I upgraded to Win11.

Based on your post history in this thread, I suspect that most of your issues are unique to you.

I've been running ProScan for years on a number of Windows 10 computers of varying age, most of which don't have many components in common. They all receive regular Windows updates, and I've never experience a fraction of the issues that seem to plague you on a regular basis. How odd.

Nope, wasn't the issue. The upgrade may have fixed what you messed up but Win10 wasn't causing it (as GTR also mentioned). Don't take it personally but thinking it is one thing when it was another doesn't help you in the long run.

I had a similar issue with my computers here in NJ communicating with my computer in PA. The PA site runs ProScan and I could not hear any audio from the site on my Win computer here in NJ. I fiddled with the PA site quite a bit trying to make sure that the audio was set correctly - still could not hear the audio but could see the visual of the ProScan running. Both computers played audio fine on their own.

I tried to connect to PA on another computer here in NJ and everything worked as expected. Finally determined that something (unknown what) on the original computer in NJ causes the problem. I simply so not use that computer to monitor my feed in PA either with TeamViewer or directly connecting with the PA site using a url.

Sometimes the computers just get confused and unless you start over from scratch - you never really figure out what is causing the issue. Its not ProScan it is something just related to that one computer and whatever misconfiguration somewhere in the computer software exists.

It is something related to that computer, yes. To say it is Win10 vs Win11 is inaccurate. If anything, it would be that it would work on 10 and not on 11, not that 11 fixed it. It is something like antivirus or firewall or something else on it that may be prohibiting whatever function from working. The point from both of us was not to blame an operating system for something caused by something else. That's not to say that one computer will work when another won't; that's certainly possible. But it's not OS.

I agree with that - the OS gets all the blame but at least it gets updates. Some of the other things on the computer get updated infrequently or never and just get conflicted when other things are trying to make improvements.

Nice  You mustn't get any sleep working on perfecting every little detail of your marvelous app. Though I still anticipate the commonly created "Do changes to the database affect my programming?" thread. But there ain't a thing you can do about that except shake your head. Proscan just keeps getting better & better. Keep it up, Bob!
