ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Bob,
Thanks, I have done that and I did it again to make sure. no change.

the windows device mngr show the com port 19.
I changed the scanner baud rate back to 115200 front and back.
I changed the ProScan settings to com port 19 and baud 115200.
no change, still shows "no response"
I re booted everything, no change.

what next?

thanks again,

You are using the rear port? correct? Is the null modem adapter OK? Pins 2 & 3 reversed. Have you tried the front port?

Well,
If I need a NULL modem adapt then that is the problem. I guess I missed that somewhere.
So to make sure I understand, I need the serial to USB then the null modem also.
Do you still need the null modem if you use the uniden USB1 cable?
And I didn't need (or don't need) the null modem for the 780xlt?

Thanks again

Do you still need the null modem if you use the uniden USB1 cable? No

And I didn't need (or don't need) the null modem for the 780xlt? I don't remember I have had it so long

And if you have a comport you don't need the usb to serial adapter (and it is so much simpler) Just get this cable and it is one less thing to have go bad or give you problems

You need a serial to USB converter if your computer does not have a RS-232 serial port.

Do you still need the null modem if you use the uniden USB1 cable?
No. Null modem adapters needed for rear port only. The Uniden USB1 cable is for the front port.
Do you have a USB1 cable? Use that.

And I didn't need (or don't need) the null modem for the 780xlt?
That's correct.

Thanks again

I am running Proscan successfully on my Aspire One netbook
My only issue is the inability to view and use the buttons at the bottom of each window - no matter what I seem to do the bottom of each window is clipped
Anyone have a workaround for this?

I use a program called AutoHotKey and use this script that allows you to "grab" the window and move it, by holding down "ALT key" and your "left mouse button" anywhere on the window you want to move, so you would be able to move proscan and be able to see all the buttons.
