ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Hmm, v 5.3 appears to download and extraction of files seems ok. However, when I attempt to "run" I get an error message that "client does not hold privilege" or words to that effect.

I am using v 5.2 and had no problems when upgrading previous versions to 5.2...

Am I doing something incorrectly?

For reasons not clear to me, v 5.3 installed w/o the dreaded error message and appears to now be working as advertised.

The stop button is greyed out after starting the server, and the clients gets the audio, but display data from the scanner does not appear.

Why is Proscan racking up the miles? Opened Task manager to find ProScan eating 355,000k of my memory. have restarted my computer and restarted ProScan. Its back up to 85,000k and climbing as I type.

I've never looked before, but I concur with Adenosine. As I watch ProScan via Task Manager (Windows 7 32 bit) I'm noticing it increasing in primarily 4k increments. Occasionally it falls off by a small amount and then starts counting up again. This is using the latest version.

New Version 5.4 For Scanner Over IP Testing

For anyone that uses the Remote Scanning Over IP feature:

I found some major memory leak problems with the mp3 decoding that was introduced in ver. 5.3 and some other SOIP problems on both the server and client side. Hopefully these files are production quality.

ProScan full version
http://www.proscan.org/ProScan_5_4_Test.zip

ProScan Free Client
http://www.proscan.org/ProScan_Client_5_4_Test.zip

Unzip the executable and copy over the original executable.

Repoting bugs:
OS and 32 or 64 bit
Server or Client
Options turned on
If possible, the server URL & port number so I can try to connect.
Via email, I can respond with more questions and send files until bug is fixed.

Is the memory leak problem why ProScan is using more RAM?

I have ver Proscan 4.6 on win xp. Im not using Remote Scanning Over IP, I'm just providing feed to RR.

More RAM may be due to the logging of the history and recording data. Streaming to RR is stable and time tested.

You can press the start button in 5.4 and start the server, but 5.4 client doesn't connect.

Need more info.

SOIP - Need more testers

I need more testers for the Scanner Over IP feature, server and client before I'm satisfied the connection problem is fixed and can move to another area of ProScan.

I had three reporting success and one that advised that it failed on a WAN but a LAN is ok. ProScan doesn't differentiate LAN & WAN.

Unzip and copy the executable over the original executable.

Email me the results and I can send test files if needed.

I am running the "Scanner over IP test" now.

My IP is
173.3.116.22
NJ (Morris)-MIRS,Municipal:pD,EMS,FIRE.

So far I am unable to connect from the same PC that supplies the feed ( I used to be able to).
when trying to connect it returns the error "unable to access comm port 3"

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Why can't you access comm port 3? Does the Windows Device Manager show comm port 3 assigned? Does another program has port 3 opened?
