If by rebooting, you mean shutting down and restarting, no joy.It should be just a matter of putting the scanner in Mass Storage mode. To do that, re-insert the USB cable or power cycle the scanner then hit the "E" key when prompted. When the scanner is in Mass Storage mode, the port will disappear from the Device Manager.
Sometimes rebooting the computer will make problems go away.
Why do you want to uninstall ProScan? never recommend that. All it does is replace the exe and dll file with the same one. But if you want to, the txt (logging) files and ProScan.cfg (config) file shouldn't be deleted using the normal uninstall method. If deleting the folder then save the txt and ProScan.cfg file to a temp. location so they can be copied back to the original folder. Copy the files when ProScan is not running.
Off topic for ProScan thread, but for anyone interested, using Window's Event Viewer I have traced the problem back to Jan. 2nd when there was a BugCheck which caused a rebooting. The BugCheck code was 0x000009F which translates to Driver_Power_State_Failure.I have two instances of ProScan, along with two instances of UniTrunker, running 24/7 on a Dell desktop, running Windows 10, through a 10-port Anker powered hub (to provide enough current to run a SDS100) that is exhibiting erratic behavior.
I have been having problems for some time with two Network Wi-Fi adapters, one a plug-in board on the back (for lack of a better description), the other a miniature USB dongle. Using Device Manager to disable, and then re-enable, those Network adapters sometimes restores Wi_Fi for brief periods, and Wi-Fi works for a brief time on Restart.
The more serious problem started when, I suspect, I failed to disconnect the SDS100, using Com Port 11, from ProScan, before trying to connect it to Sentinel to do updates. I would have to go into Device Manager to manipulate Com Port 11. I started getting a screen reading "DDE Server Window" is preventing shutdown, which after multiple shut down attempts progressed to taking an inordinate amount of time resulting in a screen that reads an error message is being sent to Microsoft. Worse, on restart, my USB SDR dongles would be recognized briefly, then disabled, without my being able to re-enable them. There were duplicate lines In Device Manager for each SDR dongle and they were all grayed out.
I'm also having problems using the Dell USB ports with my LogiTech wireless mouse and with thumb drives.
So.......... Restart isn't fixing the problem(s) and using the Command function to run file check and repair reports no issues. It appears I'm down to doing a Window Refresh.
Should I use the uninstall application for each ProScan instance before doing a Refresh, and how can I save my current ProScan data for each instance?
What type of scanner? Can the sort order of the database be changed? Rather than an alpha or numeric sort, it seems to be sorted by entry creation date. Thanks
No -Can ProScan be used with the RTL SDR?
About a month ago I said I thought your site was down and you told me it was up. It is a strange issue, I can go to it on one of my PCs, but the other one just throws a blank browser tab. While on my PC that I can bring it up on, your site works perfectly. This is strange because, I'm am running the same popup & ad blockers on both PCs. Also on the PC that I can't go to your site on, I also can't go to it in a private window either. Is anyone seeing my ProScan site down?
Webserver Question:
I finally obtained my security certificate and can access my stream via no-ip web address. My question is when I go to my no-ip address it is not showing a secure connection. I have secure https checked. Am I missing something. The only reason I went through the trouble was so I could access via web at work but our firewall is still blocking it.
where do I look to make sure?Does the certificate show as valid on the Proscan server page?
