Ultimately irrelevant I guess but what was the cause of the issue? I'm sure I won't understand 75% of it because as code goes I'm pretty much like a ball in tall grass...lost.

Thanks for your outstanding communication and customer service, it surely is a good example of how things should work.

Folks, I did some more work on the waterfall. It's a minor release so it's not packaged up into a setup file. Unzip and copy the files over the originals. Stop ProScan 1st. It's still version 22.4 but the file version has changed to 22.4.1.0

Added - Waterfall Big Knob to the sizable display to change the marker position.
Added - Waterfall Pointer that's not dependent on steps.
Added - Waterfall Colors option.

The knob works by clicking on the knob to gain focus. The knob ring will light up, same color as the marker. Use the keyboard arrow keys or drag the mouse within the knob to change the marker position.

The pointer works by moving the mouse cursor over the FFT display.

Looks good! One question; should I be able to point, click, and tune? If so I'm zigging when I should be zagging I guess. If not, is there a way to build in the function button to the resizable display for faster scrolling using the arrow keys?

Thanks for your work on this!

Bob,
If you close Proscan from the task bar while in Display Only - Sizable, and then restart ProScan the Function button appears on the display. If you click for full screen the button goes away. Then switch back to Display Only - Sizable it remains gone.

Just a little glitch of some kind.

I'm working on the tune part of the point and click now. It's about ready. I put in a frequency validation routine so shouldn't get a "Out of Band" screen.

Also it will be a single click to tune as a double click already serves the purpose of changing the display back to normal.

Can you prepare that to include a detection of a non-US model to allow an extended frequency band?

/Ubbe
What is the scanner type? UBCD3600XLT, SDS100E, SDS200E,USDS100
And what band? It has a frequency validation routine already in unless it's incorrect.

{edit} Advise if this is incorrect.

UBCD3600XLT, SDS100E, SDS200E
25 To 512
806 To 960
1240 To 1300

USDS100
25 To 520
758 To 960
1240 To 1300

I have an issue where sometimes the entire program will freeze when the webserver is running, can't exactly tell but it might be an issue with how many people are listening to it?

I have an SDS100 setup with it.

The program ProScan.exe version 22.4.1.1 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Updated. When I point and double click I'm winding up in quick search mode, which I didn't expect. There is an option to return to the waterfall from there so I'm guessing that is the design. It would be ideal to remain on the FFT I think.

Also, if you're taking suggestions, any way to bring CTCSS, DCS, NAC onto the display as well? The date and time is a waste of space, I know there's nothing you can do about that as it's the scanner itself.

Thanks for your continued work!

Let me ask how the tuning should work? Should the scanner marker line move to where the cursor is at? Should the center frequency change too?

{edit} I'll rework it.

If this is going to work in a similar manner to the SDR devices out there, usually the user has a choice of having the frequency center when it's tuned, or having a fixed FFT to view, and be able to click anywhere and tune a signal without the center frequency changing.

Try this test version 22.4.3.0. Double clicking will change the center frequency to the same frequency that the pointer is at. It's not perfect because the scanner will tune to the closest STEP.

Unzip and copy the files over the originals. Stop ProScan 1st.

{edit} Only two things that can be done in ProScan (and I believe the scanner too) to tune.
1. Enter in the frequency using the buttons.
Version 22.4.3.0 uses this method
- or -
2. Moving the big knob CCW or CW.

Actually, it does snap to step, my error. Got that mixed up with the frequency display of the pointer.

On another note, this is my 2000th post at RR. Do I win a toaster or something?
