How can I get UID recorder to stop creating audio files when I'm not using the audio input? This function really slows down my PC by spamming blank audio files, I just want to log UIDs as normal text.

Hello All!
Sorry if it's been asked and answered but I couldn't find it.
While using proscan, is there a setting that allows you to click on the text options in the menu on your screen? I'm using an Sds100 and I click the menu button (on the virtual keypad) the menu opens up with "set scan selection", "manage full database", etc. I would like to be able to double click the "manage full database" and it open up. I find that using the dial on the bottom {right} too fiddly and often pass the option I want or open something by mistake. It would be very nice to use the mouse wheel and double click. There are some instances where that works but not in the menu. Am I missing something? Thanks!

I still have the latest version. But the new one I assume is 23.01?

Can you try the up and down arrow keys. Click on the knob (to gain focus) then use the up and down arrow keys. Does that worek for you?

Folks, try this test version. 23.0.2
  • Added - An option 'Active Row No Change' on all logging & recorder screens.
  • Changed - UID Logging/Recorder now logs without recording. The option for logging only and not recording is located in the Option Recorders tab like in the image below.
Includes the following implemented in version. 23.0.1
  • Fixed - UID Recorder wasn't recording audio when using the WAV file format.
  • Fixed - Recorders - A new recording would stop a recording that was being played back.
Unzip and copy the 2 files over the originals. Stop ProScan 1st.

If there are no issues then I'll make this into a setup file.

The issue that was mentioned (as I understood it) with regards to the active row is unchanged.
For me, the ideal operation would be an option that prevents new traffic from affecting the lines that are in view, regardless of what row is highlighted. On a busy system it is impossible to scroll down the History Logging or Recorder lines and not have it keep jumping to the highlighted row. The only way to keep a row in view is to highlight it. I would want an option that would ignore new traffic and/or the location of the highlighted row. I would want to be able to drag the grey box in the margin down or roll the mouse wheel and not have new traffic affect it.
I have got very used to rolling the wheel and quickly clicking on a row but it is not optimal.

Did you try 23.0.2? The option 'Active Row No Change' is just like the old option 'Active Row In View' unchecked.

I tested version 23.0.2 on my URL connected scanner and I am very happy with the results! I have since upgraded the other instances with no issues. There's still an interruption when the scanner receives additional traffic, but at least everything typed up to that point no longer gets wiped out.

Thank you!

I misunderstood the 1st time I saw this. Try unchecking the 'New Entries Auto Sort' option and see what happens.

I'd like to see the UID Data.txt file become usable again like it was prior to 23.0.
As it is now in this 2nd test version, UIDs are logged to the screen in realtime but if you must close and reopen ProScan for any reason, those entries are lost.
I did restore my UID Log files from backups as soon as I realized 23.0.x versions zero out the file but 23.0.x will no longer read that file even when I have Logging Only enabled for UIDs in 23.0.2.

The History Data.txt log file does not log all the UID activity to the file. It only logs the UID displayed by the scanner (536 or SDS in this case) at the time the talkgroup or repeater drops off the air. So the UID Data.txt file was the only reliable file to get a list of UIDs seen.

Other than this, the 23.0.x versions are working well Bob!

Use the scroll wheel on the mouse then click e(yes) on the keypad, use menu button to go up a level. That's the easiest way I do it.

The UIDs should reload when ProScan starts. Do you have this option checked?
