The UIDs should reload when ProScan starts. Do you have this option checked?

I didn't notice this in the new version. It was not checked. Checking it does allow the data in the UID Data.txt file to load and display under the UID/Logging tab! UID logging now works as it did in pre-23.x versions!

One small issue for those that do just log UID data is that the the 23.x versions will clear the UID Data.txt file at first start of ProScan before you can get to the option to disable UID Recording. By the time you change that option, your UID Data file has been wiped clean.
I have backups so was able to restore my large UID Data files for each ProScan instance when I found the 23.x ProScan version zero's out the file.

Thanks for the quick answer Bob!

Perhaps the best way to explain it would be an option to shut off the "active row" feature. I want to be able to review anything in the UID Logging/Recorder window without a new transmission causing the highlighted row to come into view regardless of which option is selected.

Let's say I want to edit radio ID 123456 while a busy system is active. I sort the screen by "UID before lookup". The top row is highlighted. I now have to go down 3000 rows. Page down takes forever so I drag the bar on the right to get close and then use the mouse wheel and BAM!, someone talks and the window goes back to the highlighted row at the top. I then have to do it again and try to beat the next conversation. Once I can land on it, I can highlight it and the window will not go to the top as the "Active row" is now in view.

It may be that it is not possible because you are adding to the screen/file whenever there is a conversation.

Just to make sure we are on the same page. We are talking about this option. Correct?

This option works exactly the same as the old option "Active Row In View unchecked. I'm sure about that. If new transmissions show in view then see if the auto sort option is checked.

Did it work for you prior to version 23.0 using the 'Active Row In View' option unchecked? Or are you suggesting a new option.

None of the options keep past traffic in view so I guess it would be new.
It has never done it so I have just got used to working around it. Sometimes I hit hold on the scanner, go find the line, do what I need to do and then resume scanning.
Auto sort does not make any difference and non of the 4 options keep the unselected lines in view when there is new traffic. And to further clarify, this is with 5 days worth of entries, 16,500 lines of recordings or 25,000 lines of logging.

The 'UID Data.txt' shouldn't clear and nothing in the code will do that. It may be related to the 'Load Recordings...' option unchecked. I should have kept the reading of the UID data file in the 'Load Logging Data' option but it's too late now.

Also it may be related when switching from recorder to logging (or visa-versa). The logging will create a new or update an existing logging (and not recording) entry. Same with switching to recording, The recording will update an existing recording and not logging entry.

In the UID Data file, to tell if it's a recording or logging entry is the recording lines have filenames and the logging does not.

ProScan Version 23.1 Just Released!
  • Added - An option 'Active Row No Change' on all logging & recorder screens.
  • Changed - UID Logging/Recorder now logs without recording. The option for logging only is located in the Option Recorders tab, UID Logging / Recorder section.
  • Fixed - UID Recorder wasn't recording audio when using the WAV file format.
  • Fixed - Recorders - A new recording would stop a recording that was being played back. Broke in version 23.0

For anyone that downloaded and installed ver. 23.1. Can you do it again. I had some debug info and that was causing fake UID's to show.
Sorrry about that.

What antivirus software are you using.
What OS are you using?
What is the name of the virus.
I just tried to update through proscan itself. Windows defender is stopping it from installing on windows 10.

I still see this everytime I go to the ProScan website... It's a False Positive... I don't use Windows Defender... I use ESET...
I don't update thru ProScan... I download the file so I have a copy of it...
When I run the .EXE file I see the same thing @FrensicPic see's... Just click "Run anyway" it will be fine...

Windows defender doesnt give you the option to continue unles you know how to specficially go into your security settings and exclude that one specific file in that location. Something ProScan changed in the code is causing this false positive.

I am sure that windows defender is just being a crybaby, but unfortunatly it doesnt have a simple way to just ignore it and carry on. I run into this at times when it thinks a piece of software might circumvent a microsoft activation or other nonsense rather than it being an actual virus. Its more of a "Microsoft Revenue Threat" than a "We will steal all your files for ransom" threat.

Could be something that changed on the ProScan side of things or it could just be something they changed on the Defender side of things making it more strict. I'm sure Bob will get it sorted in short order, as always.
