Awesome. I have been holding off on getting a BCD536HP until Pro Scan could be used with it.

ProScan for the BCD536HP - First Look

The development is underway. The BCD536HP and BCD436HP support should be ready for beta testing end of May.

First look of the virtual scanner.

Upgrade or download? Are you running Norton Anti-Virus by any chance?

If a download problem then see if the direct link helps. http://www.proscan.org/ProScan_7_0.zip

Ok i was able to get both computers to take the update finally. For some reason when you open up the 6.8 ver it would ask if you wanted to download the 7.0 ver. Neither computer would let the update go through from clicking on that link when you opened the program. I had to use internet explorer and go to the proscan page and then get the 7.0 ver from there. Not sure what the issue was?? I haven't had a problem before with either computer updating the software in the past??

BCD536 ProScan Next Week

The program is mostly done excluding the database. I started work on the database portion a few days ago and realized it will be an almost identical duplication of the Uniden Sentinel program so I don't see why spend two months on the database development when Uniden offers it. I just have the Web Server feature to finish so the scanner can be controlled remotely using any platform.

BCD536HP support should be ready for beta testing and suggestions in about a week. The BCD436HP display is different so that release will be a few weeks later.

Can't wait! Looks great!

Any chance of adding LAN based audio input? I.E. instead of selecting a sound card input you would select LAN and enter the IP of the scanner. No way to test that until Uniden releases the firmware though and I am sure that won't be released until the App is ready and we already know the word on that.

Curious how much lag there would be though from the audio vs the serial data it is reading. I wouldn't think it would be to bad as long as it is LAN.

We'll discuss this when the Uniden app is out and we'll know the full capabilities. It sounds like it will be a great feature so maybe after the ProScan BCDx36HP support is completed.

I've been using Pro Scan for almost a year now, and just ran into my first issue. I was using Proscan, closed it, turned my computer off for the night, and came back the next day to this issue.

Whenever I connect to a local feed I usually listen to, I get the following error.

I thought it was my IP/ISP being blocked, so I tried a proxy and got this error.

I can connect to a ton of other feeds around the country, but not these few local/state ones.

Any ideas?

If you can connect to some of the feeds but not all then the Client side is not the problem. What are the addresses and port numbers of the servers unable to connect to? I'll see if I can connect.

These are the ones I know I cannot connect too.

kc9lvx.dyndns.org on port 5000

kc9lzj.ham-radio-op.net on port 4500

Any other seems okay for me.

I would bet he let his DynDNS run out, I know on mine (no-ip.org) I have to go to their page once a month and do a captcha to keep it up and running. You may try emailing him, his email is posted on his qrz page if you can not see it message me and I will send it to you.

No problems here Joe in regards to Proscan being blocked..But I'm not using Nortons
I am using Kaspersky Internet Security, and if I try to use what it calls "Trusted Application Control"
it does flag Proscan, but not as dangerous, but as an unknown application

I just reloaded V6.8 and it is up and running so it would be interesting to see what is causing the flag in V7.0.

Thank's for the information.

VE5JL,
Can you advise to the Norton product? Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiVirus ,or Norton 360? I'll check it out and and report the false positive.
What is the date of your virus definition file?

The reason you can't send me a message is because of your low post count (I also can't message you, I would have). What he has posted as his email, is his ham callsign @insightbb.com
