Nice program. Hey, can groups of TGIDs be copied and pasted from group to group, or is it just one at a time? Or is it micro vista getting in the way? Thanks,

One at a time until I make the tree multiselect. The TGID nodes and the other nodes can be dragged and drop which is a lot faster the cut & paste.

Howdy Bob!

I have just received the latest RadioRefrence CD and I have been using PROSCAN in concert with it the 'demo mode'. Wow, what a impressive and powerful program! Bob, I can't imagine why Uniden does not purchase a PROSCAN license and include it with every BCD996T? In fact, I can't imagine tackling this scanner without PROSCAN.

So OK... I am all set to PayPal my purchase of PROSCAN but PayPal is asking for a 'Promo Code'? I looked high and low here (on RadioRefrence), but no luck and no luck on the Internet either. I do find more hits for PROSCAN, but they are not scanner related.

Is there a Promo Code and if not, maybe you could have a special Summer Sale for a week or so? Maybe the Promo Code is offered after the Demo Mode times out?

Bob, I sincerely thank your dedication and your outstanding software! I hope to write a review soon, but I'm still discovering more PROSCAN features.

Respectfully,
Anthony

Leave the Promo Code blank on the ProScan ordering page and you're good to go. PayPal doesn't ask for a Promo Code.

Promo Code is for large orginazations, affiliates, and group licenses.

One Request (or point me in the right direction if I overlooked it):

Ability to change system type especially during an import from a ProScan BCD996T file. The WVIRP for me, imports as a "SYS MOT". I need to be able to change it to "SYS P25". I can do it in FreeScan, but I would like to be able to do all in ProScan.

Again, I cannot express how much better your application is than the "others" plus your consideration of suggestions. I know you've added at least a few of mine. :)

EDIT: I did find a way to do it if anyone else needs to do it:

1. make a copy of the database file
2. open in notepad and find the system name (in my case it was "WVIRP")
3. replace "MOT2" with "P25S"
4. save file
5. import in ProScan for the x96XT scanner

I just tested and this does work.

Just installed ProScan 2.1.0 then upgraded to 2.9.4 on Windows 7 64bit RTM running under VMWare...

-- First time I ran it and attempted to connect to a remote streaming server (mine via internet), it blue screened. Not sure it this was VMWare related or not.
-- Second attempt after a reboot of the VMWare PC...seems to work just fine.

I will make it so the system type can be changed in the database editor and before importing from ProScan DMA files.

Note: RR import already has the ability to change system types.

I will be working on the BCD996XT and BCT15X support middle of Sept. It shouldn't take long for the 996XT as it's almost the same as the 396XT. BCT15X may take a little longer with the bearcat stuff.

I don't think the BCD996Xt and BCT15X protocol document been released yet which will delay it.

In the mean time, to control, download, and upload a BCD996XT with ProScan. Try ProScan with the scanner type set to BCD396XT and in the general options, check the box "Bypass Scanner Type Check Download & Upload:

Everything I believe should work except the record option.

I'll be getting a BCT-15 soon, so I'm getting a file set up in Proscan.
I think I'm missing something here. I have an Excel file with all of my conventional frequencies, mode, tag etc all nicely laid out. I know I can't import an .xls or .csv file, but surely I can copy/paste from it?

For my PSR 600, I just re-arranged the columns and coped pasted right in to Win500, took seconds to do.

In Proscan If I do a clipboard import, all I get is frequency, but I see no other way to paste. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Steve

No, I think that's it. I love ProScan but a few of the things like pasting (like in Excel) and the option to overwrite existing systems with the same name are lacking a little. I still find myself using other software to get things organized.

I do plan on working in this area. I have a few higher priority items to do first.

About 3 months away.

Thanks. Guess I can use other programs to import, but from what I've seen I'll definitely be purchasing Proscan as the scanner over IP functionality looks outstanding!

If you have a premium subscriber membership here (not that expensive), my experence is that ProScan will import like a champ.

Agreed, but there's lots of stuff not in the DB that I want to put in, but I'll use another program to do the import.

Please post any suggestions so I can look in to doing it.

One request that I haven’t got to yet but will after the BCD996XT support is a global search and replace function for the DMA scanners.

Next version
• Web Server and Scan Cast official release
• RSSI value continuously updates in history grid
• DMA scanners - Motorola Custom sites upper frequencies calculate button
• DMA scanners - Upload & Download user interface - reworked
• DMA scanners - Download selectable systems
• DMA scanners - Uploading systems checks if the scanner resources has been exceeded
• DMA scanners - Faster opening & closing(saving) database files
• DMA scanners - Auto change the TGID's to decimal or AFS on EDACS systems
• XT Series scanners - Auto change the TGID's to decimal or hex on Moto systems
• XT Series scanners - Checking the Private / Protect checkbox popups a warning message

my only suggestions are:

-- improve the copy/paste ability for apps such as Excel. this would be so much better as I could copy/paste from my "other" app.
--add ability to import from this "other" app (Butel)
--upon upload, delete systems with same name. I found out I had about 4 separate systems for the same
-- if possible, reduce CPU usage. if not, I'll get another PC for it. :)

overall the product is excellent.
