Bob,

Is the alert light issue in there somewhere?

Also, I just posted an issue with the custom search system type parameters for C-Ch Only on your board.

Another thing I'd like to see is some right-click options for database objects. So if I right click a system, or a group, or frequency, I get copy, paste, delete, add.

I didn't see your other suggestions. What are they?

I was considering a right click context menu with the items you named but that requires an extra click because the database menu items (in red) are shown already without right clicking. I need more arguments to persuade me on this one.

my only suggestions are:

-- improve the copy/paste ability for apps such as Excel. this would be so much better as I could copy/paste from my "other" app.
--add ability to import from this "other" app (Butel)
--upon upload, delete systems with same name. I found out I had about 4 separate systems for the same
-- if possible, reduce CPU usage. if not, I'll get another PC for it. :)

overall the product is excellent.

I'll add the suggestions to the list.

On the CPU usage: Check that you are running the latest 2.9.4. It's an upgrade file meaning ProScan needs to be installed first.

What kind of numbers you have. Is ScanCast, Web Server, Band Scope, or CC Data running. Do you have any log files that are extremely large in size?

Running 2.9.4, only running Remote Scanner Over IP, log files are empty (just renamed the file and loaded ProScan again to create a new log file). I am running 2 sessions on the same PC. PC is older Dell OptiPlex with 768MB RAM, 1.9GHz P4 running WinXP SP3. So, I know if it was running on a newer multicore CPU, it would be fine. CPU usage is about 30-40% each session. Each are running from separate folders.

I'll look into this. I should be able to get the numbers down.

This is exactly why I like ProScan so much. Bob doesn't make you jump through hoops and make you (the user) troubleshoot and ID exactly what the issue is. "Other software" I have used the guy makes you do everything including a handstand before he would even look into something. And then, he might not even resolve it.

Thanks Bob for great product and great support!!

EDIT:
Oops never mind, looks like I need firmware 1.06. Now if I can get the ridiculous registration process complete. Wow, what a hassle just to download firmware....

I'm now set up with my BCT-15 and have things working pretty well.

Quick question (likely more to come...)
Should I not be getting RSSI values in the history log? It's blank for me.

Thanks,

Steve

Cannot get the USB cable to work with my BCD996-T and Proscan, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you using the front port?

1st Step - Check the Windows Device Manager port assignment.
What's the port number of the USB converter?

2nd Step - Check that ProScan is using the same port. Go to the menu Options -> Comm Port to change it. While you're there, check that the baud rate is 115200.

3rd Step. - Check the scanner baud rate is 115200.

Advise if still having trouble.

How does one delete the History in Proscan and start fresh?

Go to the general options by clicking on the "Options" menu and then click on the "General" menu. On the right side in the "History" section, click the "Clear History Grid" button.

First off, I have been very satisfied with ProScan for control of both my 996T and 796D over the last couple of months.

Here's two items I'd like to have (didn't see discussion of them here or at ProScan's own forum), but at my advanced age, maybe I missed it:

A Mute button. Some of us use our scanners mobile but not mounted at our fingertips (more like behind and under the rear seat). A mute button is nice when the phone rings, etc.

Hotkeys. Specifically for the Quick Keys on DMA scanners and Banks on non-DMA models.

Hopefully, I just missed these somewhere...
