ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Try shrinking and clicking it to full size a few times during that burn. It's what I do throughout the day when I'm listening (you know, to click on quick keys and groups). Then, all of the sudden, one time when I click it to full size, it craps out and crashes.

So far, I can't duplicate. It's possible that it may be fixed as I recently did work in that area.
email me and I will send you the latest file.

hey bob,
i know ur busy with your new version comming out... about a month ago i sent you an email about my license. i actually bought two licenses from you and use the program on four computers... about two months ago i rebuilt one of those machines and then upgraded to windows 7 from xp on all of my machines. now my licenses are invalid. i'm assuming the license ties in not only with the hardware but the os as well since its not working on any of them. i forgot to use the uninstall license trick before upgrading everything. is there a way to reset my license info? i'm n ot trying to get around anything and i have paid for what i use... i just never heard back from you so i thought i'd post a note here... thanks for your time and hard work. this is great software and i love using it... thanks

Did you get my email reply today? I replied to your email as soon as I received it.
Don't assume. License is not tied to the OS.

First off, I have been very satisfied with ProScan for control of both my 996T and 796D over the last couple of months.

Here's two items I'd like to have (didn't see discussion of them here or at ProScan's own forum), but at my advanced age, maybe I missed it:

A Mute button. Some of us use our scanners mobile but not mounted at our fingertips (more like behind and under the rear seat). A mute button is nice when the phone rings, etc.

Hotkeys. Specifically for the Quick Keys on DMA scanners and Banks on non-DMA models.

Hopefully, I just missed these somewhere...

I added a "Mute" button. Look for it in Ver 3.0.

Ver 3.0 was going to be released a few days ago but then a user reported the location data (latitude, longitude, and range) wasn't imported from RR so I'm working on that now and should have the next version out next week.

Bob,

It's great that you are going to download the location data from RR, but where is it stored in RR? I've looked everywhere I can think of and I cannot find location data for the systems I have (lots of California and LA systems).

Randy

It's not shown on the web pages unless there is an extended view I don't know about.

It's in the SOAP downloaded data stream.

Nice Bob! I like the cool touch of putting the mute button on the borderless display!

Okay, so here you go - it's always what have you done for me lately, right? (I'm in sales so I hear that a lot):

Next version should include the ability to do bulk edits of channels - maybe in a spreadsheet format. It's very handy to be able to click on a series of channels and bulk change tags.

I will be doing the bulk edits (global and selection). It is a high priority item.

Hi Bob,

Will I be able to use this to update multiple sites for a trunk system using this feature?

As an example, I have some systems with lots of sites.

1) I would like to pick a system
2) Somehow say I want to do bulk edit for that system
3) See the site information fields in a header part of a screen (e.g. Quick Key)
4) Select what fields I want to change and enter the new values
5) See a list of sites for that system, select individually or all
6) Click an action button to apply the bulk update

I am using a BCD996XT one of the new radios, does this display look ok for the radio i have selected? It seems like those Tune Jump and now The speaker mute are in the wrong places and hiding part of the display.

Display looks ok to me.

With that size, the jump and mute button will overlap. That's by design to keep them visible..

Click the "Reset Default Program Size and Position" in the view menu to make it normal.

Bob, I just had the program crash on me again - like in the previous version. I had the software up for about five hours, shrunk down to the borderless display. When I came home, I double clicked on the display to bring it up to full size and it crashed. The window flickers, and parts of it are missing. I get a partial popup that displays a cancel button. When I press cancel another cancel button comes up. When I click that, the program closes.

The next time this happens, I'll take a screenshot and post it here. I'm confused as to why this would be happening. I have a pretty robust system with a Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.8 GHz. I'm running 3 Gig of RAM on Windows XP. I have 821 Gig of free space on the hard drive.

Any thoughts?
