ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Excellent job on the new version of ProScan.
Curious if there are plans in future to support the Uniden BC125AT scanner?
It would be perfect for streaming/recording alpha tags on conventional analog systems on the cheap.

Proscan 5.5 web server problem

the Webserver runs great with one person listening. But a 2nd person is unable to log in and listen. I even set the maximum connections to 10 to be sure..

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

When reporting bugs, always advise on the product(ProScan, Free Client, or RadioFeed), version, OS type, scanner type, and options pertaining to the bug. Describe in detail what the bug is doing or not doing.

I've been using ProScan registered for two weeks now. This morning it randomly crashed on me, and when I restarted it all of my settings were wiped out. I had to do everything over again- COM port, record settings, etc. Any ideas why, and can I possibly back up the config file to prevent this from happening again in the future? Now none of my recordings are listed anymore either, I have to manually browse to the folder they are stored in and play them back with Windows Media Player.

Don't know why it crashed without any details. Being Tuesday, do you have Microsoft Updates set to automatically install updates? I've seen in the past a graphics and audio drivers installed part of the Microsoft updates. Not saying that is the problem, In the past I've seen three reports of this type of problem suspecting a driver.

The ProScan.cfg file is saved when the program closes. You can close the program to save the cfg file and back it up.

Audio files

I have been using free scan for at least 3+ years with a BC 996T 396XT and 996XT on a windows xp machine that failed. put it on my new dell running windows 7 64 and i cant find the folder with the recorded audio files.in xp there was a neat folder for the audio-just open it up and port whatever i wanted into windows media player. i cant find the folder that contains the audio on the computer. i also cant find the proscan folder either. would appreciate any help.

there is also a weird problem with the recording. if i exit the software before turning off the radio, i have to enable the audio control by going into the controler and highlighting the mic icon, then exit the program and re start it to get the recorder to work. if i shut the radio off first and then exit the software, the record button bar works coreectly.

the other weird problem is i cant delete more than 2 pages of old recrdings if i choose the each file in new line option. i can dump about 50-100 lines per session, then it remove selected line doesn doesnt remove the lines.
i like the program. some of the button bars are cramped. i wish you could actually control the radio with the button bars, turning on and off systems.its nice that the squelch and volume keys can be controllrd via software.

ps have version 5.2. dont want to update as all the updates have been for remote control. dont need that function right now.

Win 7 64 bits treats the \Program Files (x86) folder differently. Using the Windows Explorer, navigate to the sub folder under \Program Files (x86) and click on "Compatibilities files" and then you will see all the files.

How do you get jpg's or picture to show in your feed.

I listen with Tune In Radio for my feed and want a jpg to show my feed.

Like greater Toronto area opp feed or Renfrew feed

On Jul 4 my C:/ drive had a catastrophic failure. Now replaced with new PC and Win 7 OS. Downloaded paid v 5.6 which is running fine with my BCD996XT. No longer can locate documentation on how/where text is to be entered for UID alias lookups, to me a key feature for the user. I recall char % is needed somehow but don't find explanation, need SAMPLE/Dummy lookup as I *am* a computer dummy and also don't know what the proper address should be for the file.

1. Prepend a "i" to the TGID and prepend a "%" to the TGID text tag.
2. Upload the change to the scanner.
3. Go to the logging options and click the logging tab. Press the "UID Text Tag Lookup File" button.
4. Edit the file and close it.

Ahh good news. I JUST upgraded from 4.47 to 5.6 and was having intermittent problems connecting with my iPhone using FStream. Hopefully that takes care of it. I'll upgrade tomorrow.

ActionScanner no longer works. I suspect it's because the stream path changed from /stream.m3u to /ProScan.m3u

I changed it in FStream and it works. ActionScanner ignores the /ProScan.m3u and insists on stream.m3u.

Ahh good news. I JUST upgraded from 4.47 to 5.6 and was having intermittent problems connecting with my iPhone using FStream. Hopefully that takes care of it. I'll upgrade tomorrow.

Yeah, I was a bit behind in my updates

Thanks. It only seems to affect ActionScanner. Not sure how many people would use that with ProScan.
I wouldn't mind being able to use it again.
