ProScan Version 1.7 Build 2 includes the RadioReference Imports feature, improved Scanner Over IP, and bug fixes.

Supported scanners are the BCD996T, BC796D, BC785D, BC780XLT, BC296D, and the BC250D.

I'm thriving to make this the best Computer Aided Scanning program and suggestions are very much appreciated.

You router is dropping the connection to the scanner set the scanner to a STATIC ADDRESS on your network it is a DHCP issue with your router.
Hey Thanks for your note. I have my scanner set as static or "manual" as Uniden likes to call it . . . 192.168.1.190. My Win 11 machine is also set to manual at 192.168.1.171. No DHCP on either device. I'm running through ethernet (wifi turned off.) It worked before Win 11 and Proscan 24.2. So my guess is the problem lies in there somewhere.

It's not a Win 11 problem but perhaps something to do with the new laptop. I would temporarily turn off any antivirus/internet security software for a test and double and triple check that. I would also swap the Ethernet cables in the path, one at a time.

Also check that the Computer is always on never hibernate never turn off devices to save power it is ok to use screen saver and turn off the screen.
I have a SDS200 hardwired to a laptop Win 11 Pro the only time it drops the connection is when Windows does updates.
Ditto to this!!! I have Win 11 Pro on a Dell Optiplex 7020. I set 'hibernate', to off. Also, Since my SDS100 is continuously connected. It drops during an update or re-boot.

@ProScan I actually Googled my question. Before asking it, here.

What I was trying to find out, is. If there was a way in the logging info. To show if a TG has been ENCrypted, or not. The Google search, seem to shows that there was, but.

When I tried, I couldn't find it.

What am I missing?

TIA

I set Windows updates to prompt for a pending reboot, then I send MSM,300 in ProScan Test and Extras to put my SDS100 into storage mode for 5 minutes while I reboot the box. Sometimes the COM port auto-reconnects after the reboot, sometimes I have to manually connect it again. Your mileage may vary but worth a shot.

iIf using a BCDx36HP or SDSx00, see the Digital Type column in the history log. If you don't see it then you may have to scroll the grid to the right.

Thanks. I have turned off my Bitdefender and firewall. I've swapped cables. I have a wireshark LAN watch dump capturing the failure. While I can operate the software, i have been out of networking so long I can't analyze it. If someone is interested, just let me know what format you would like the packet dump in.

Seems like this was the issue. I believed I had turned all the power savers off, but missed the option on batteries (I'm hooked to power all the time until there is an outage.) seems like it is staying connected. Fingers crossed.

I‘m getting an error message when trying to upoad from the database editor to the scanner
BCD260DN using V.24.3 on Windows 11 I have uploaded to the scanner using the previous version of Proscan.
The scanner is connecting to the software just fine. Virtual scanner control, etc.
I tried selecting the BCD160DN and that didn’t work, either
I am using Proscan for two scanners. Also use it for BCD996P2
I tried rebooting my laptop with no joy.
Then tried uninstalling Proscan and re-installing. Still no joy.
Looking for some help.

Thanks!

Select BCD260DN in ProScan and keep it that way.
Do you see any errors when BCD260DN is selected?

You do know that running two scanners with P:roScan, you need two instances of ProScan. Each instance needs to be in different folders.

Oh, no I did not know you needed two separate instances running. That would be the issue. This instance does work with the BCD996P2. Thank you

I see what happened. I used the demo version to upload previously with the 260. That’s why I thought I could program more than one scanner. I have the licence for the 996. Got it…:giggle:

Just so you understand, one license from ProScan is for as many installations on two PCs as you want. So you can use the same license to cover several scanners on one (or two) PCs.

I missed the part about each instance having to be in two different folders (need new glasses). I’m all good now. I have two instances running in two different folders. Both the 996 and 260 are uploading. I appreciate the clarification. I plead impaired by age.
