So the RR database has the NAC's incorrect for several of the Tower sites here in Michigan for the MPSCP system.

Question, I'm not seeing a way in the Sentinel software to correct the NAC's in my database, I only know how to in Favorites lists. Am I missing something, is it possible to correct? If not can it be corrected in the scanner itself?

The bummer is with my local tower being wrong in the database I can not really run a Full database scan on that system on my scanner.

The BEST way to help fix this is to submit corrections.

Best way to see multiple sites and their info.
Menu - Analyze - System Status - enter - for system status - enter - choose system - enter - then select a site - it will populate the info including actual NAC, write it down, rotate the knob and go to the next site - repeat.

Go to MPSCS
https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=100

Click the submit tab
and report those incorrect

You can check by going to

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=100&tab=reports
and running the 1st report CSV etc

or go to the 1st link and click individual sites.

There are actually some benefits but with an "always on" implementation - even more so for the full database - having incorrect information in the database is detrimental to proper operation - particularly for novice users.

I just submitted 2 Site NAC corrections5. Will submit more when I am close enough to Analyze the site and get the information.

Yes, for programming novices like myself that rely heavily on the Database, when it in incorrect you are left wondering what is wrong with my scanner (i.e Me 2 days ago)

Firmware wouldn't cause a gradual change in performance that didn't start until more than 24 hours after it was installed. It would be an immediate change happening as soon as it is installed. Something else has changed, either with the system configuration, or with your antenna/coax.

Have your RSSI values changed? Was there rain or severe weather around the time of the change that could have caused antenna damage, or caused water to infiltrate into the coax?

Thanks for replying.

Atmospherically, it's been hot and humid here. Although we received much needed rain on the late afternoon and evening of the Fourth and this morning, atmospheric conditions have had no bearing. As far as RSSI, as with original firmware and current firmware, I continue with a consistent average of -40 to -55 dbm signal. The radio, along with it's five 436 and four 536 siblings are all indoor only, no coax, just OEM or radio shack 800mhz antennas--which, for continuity purposes have been interchanged to rule out any deficiencies. The SDS is the only one missing traffic, the others continue to work flawlessly.

Just make the default site setting NAC Search. You can still specify a site NAC if you're experiencing an interference issue, but normally NAC Search will avoid more issues (wrong NAC set) than it causes (interference).

Several reliable users of the SDS100 have noted that when the site is in NAC Search mode, it takes slightly longer for the scanner to unmute for traffic, resulting in some clipping of the beginning of transmissions. That alone is reason enough to have the NAC programmed if known.
